"For Blood and Empire"

Apparantly, it's scheduled to be released on March 21st. I can't believe I didn't know about this until logging into Myspace eariler.
As of yesterday, the entire album is avaliable for streaming on their site (http://http://www.anti-flag.com/main.php).

Also, to my understanding, they are to play Warped this year. :)

You just found this out today? I had one of the songs on my Myspace for a few weeks. And I think there was even a thread about it here.

Anyway, yes it will be awseome, and i'm definately going to Warped this year.

Well, I certainly feel deprived. I have to wait to hear the new stuff because I can't stream anything with my gay dial-up. :(

Yeah, I managed to download it from BitTorrent when it was up for only a couple of days. I can't wait until Tuesday.

ya the new album isnt that great. there are definetly some good songs, but its not as good as the other albums. im glad they still kept there original sound even though its a major label album, but at the same time i wish they tried something new. o well. i still like them and im still going to see them at warped and on tour for the 3rd time!

How good are they live? 1-10?

03-15-2006, 06:38 PM
I saw them once, as a special guest for a Bad Religion/Pennywise show. This was before I was really into AF, but I really liked them live. They played a song off the new album (keep in mind this is December '05), but I don't remember which one.

I'd say 8 or 9.

There's so many aweosme bands playing warped this year, there's no way I'll be able to catch them all. But if it's an 8 or 9, I'd go outta my way to see Anti-Flag fo' sho.

This years Warped would have been my dreamday last year, but seeing as AFI isn't playing my town, it's just mediocre. Last year I would've killed to see NOFX, Antiflag, Against Me!, etc, but this year I just don't really care about any of the bands. At least Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are there, and the Buzzcocks. And the Germs. The list isn't done yet, though, so hopefully we'll get some more ska.

*ahem* October.

I'll probably buy the album when it comes out...maybe. I dunno, I'm getting tired of them, sort of.

Holy hell, that Nokia Theater show was in October? Damn, I should keep better track.

This probably Anti-Flags greatest album yet. Bye.

Anti-Flag's live show was, indeed, quite nice. I don't even like Anti-Flag or the fact that they shove messages down listeners throats; but they put on a damn good live show. The pit was pretty powerful there; I got punched in the stomach twice by some younguns who don't know that you aren't actually supposed to throw punches in the pit unless you're seeing GWAR. :( :( :(

That, or it's tied for best with Underground Network. Still, great stuff.

Actually, I think it was. Lyrically, they've really progressed. Yeah, they sound poppier but who gives a shit?

I don't mind the whole album. I have some favorite tracks I listen to over and over again, but I really love the sound of Die For The Government a lot better.
