So uh, what's a FrontPage, Scripting, Flash, and all of that stuff.

are you serious?

I'm possibly going to take on the position of Pennsylvania District Webmaster, which is going to require even more time and effort.

That would be exactly why I'm asking. I'll only have to manage a website in place. And plus, the other candidate is a freshman who only wants the position just to be on the district board, even though she's more clueless than I am about Webpage stuff. I've done expage.

Frontpage: Main page of a website, usually index.html or index.php
Scripting: Writing the source-code for a website, so that everything works.
Flash: Different from HTML and PHP, more dynamic when it comes to the looks of a page, much harder to master, but really cool once you can.

Is that what you wanted to know?

Also a microsoft program for creating web pages. Fairly simple to use.

Microsoft FrontPage still exists? I used it a bit, 5 years ago. I don't have it, so I assumed that people didn't use it anymore.

Yes, that is what I wanted to know. But also, do you need codes for that stuff, and where do you get the codes?

I believe it's more about learning them.

Anybody want to teach me? Or send me stuff about it? All I really need to do is keep the main format of this page: http://www.pakeyclub.org/ and change certain words and pictures to be updated, and update an online tracker.

No offence, but you seem to have the same reason as the other candidate seeing how you haven't even heard of frontpage before. Like Endy said, I think you're way over your head and should probably let someone else take this one. I'm sure this small thing won't keep you from going to a good university.

This is just fucking ridiculous. And Tiff, no offence, but you're an idiot for jumping headlong into this.

Why do people say "no offence" when they are clearly being offensive? Be more honest and say "You're an idiot, but I don't want you to hate me for saying it".

Whoa! When did you grow a set?! I approve.

You'd have had my head on a plate for a post like that months ago.

Self-learning web design etc, even if it just means putting together a fairly simple website, it's quite a bit of work. It took me ages to just figure out what a table was and even more time to figure out how to use such a thing on my website. Nowadays I use div-layers which are really easy to figure out and handy as fuck, but I have to admit, I ripped the code off some some tutorial website. There's a lot of error-and-repeat type of learning to be done with website-building.

Point is, leave this job to someone with experience in making websites. If you already have a lot of commitments, don't even try to take this one upon yourself.

Unless you wanna do your job like Web Dude ie. NOT TO DO IT. Sorry, I had to throw this in here.

Have you even taken a webmasters class. Why would you volunteer for something you know nothing about. Frontpage is a program very simple to use we spent about a day on it in Webmasters. Macromedia Flash is a program for making Flash websites it's also fairly simple. HTML is Hypertext Mark Up Language it's what behind any website it's stuff like
<html>
<body>

<p>
<img src="imagename.filetype" width="#" height="#">
</p>

Tijs

Yeah, but that's wrong.

<html>
<head>
<title>Website Title</title>
</head>
<body>

<p>
<img src="imagename.filetype" width="#" height="#">
</p>

</body>
</html>

:)

I know but it was just an example of what HTML looks like.

Tijs

No... that was an example of what HTML shouldn't look like. Like this frog:

Actually, I have a willing Web Design teacher who is going to help me out with this after school, since I didn't sign up for the class. And I purchased the book Webpage for Dummies, looked up stuff online, did research, talked to the previous webmaster, and figured out hey, I can do this. Other than me and the girl who really does not deserve it, there are no candidates. I might be an idiot, but where would I be without taking risks. I've decided to complete an application and turn it in, and see where that leads. I don't think messing up is going to kill my life.

And a side note to the guy who said something about my eyebrows, I finally got them done last night, without my parents knowing, by my friends. Yay!
