I've always thought of it like that too...even though im not Russian or in Russia...MY major is Geography and i've thought about it...although I do not special in that sort of things (urban planning, city planning is what I do) I've always thought of Russia...as just being..Russia.. *shrug*

Hah thanks..

People say like, "oh he is european" but really he could be italian, they just generalise, and there is nothign wrong with that, but you dont call russian people european, or asian...they're just...russian and nothing else know what I meannnnnnn? *shrug*

I dont identify british people as being european though...they're just not. Even thought they are...they're just not. I think its because, where I live is a product of Britain I guess...but when I am at our house in Italy...it is significantly different...

Rocky-girl
03-24-2006, 10:31 AM
It's clear that another country will never become for you a home. And yes europian(asian) is general. But nobody thikns that this nations, which are compared in this words, have it's own peculiarity and they are different in general.Did I understaud you right? Yes they have something common: stile of life but that stiles are different, I say in Ukrain(:)) and Italy, I guess. They are differnt even in Ukrain and Litva though they are close in geografical position. The same I think is with asians but not so sharp.

Italia311
03-24-2006, 10:41 AM
They are close in Geographical location and because of that I believe in some ways they hold the same values in a sense. Britain is an island off on its own. I have met Croatians, Ukranians, French that have the same up bringing, family values and whatever as we do, same with spanish and portugese. British people, I dont think can relate to alot of European cultures, maybe even most...thats why I don't think of them as being european..I think of them as being...just Britain...perhaps in reference to location. Someone could say that about Italians, but I would have to disagree.

I dont know if we are talking about two different things???

Rocky-girl
03-24-2006, 11:34 AM
I hope no. So one more, countries of Europe can be compared, they are together if I can say so. Do you really think that Britains have different type of bringing up, family values? I think that they are for everybody the same I mean they are mainly the same for europians. Am I not right?

the_GoDdEsS
03-24-2006, 11:50 AM
You two have started quite an interesting debate. Take it further!

What's fascinating about Europe is that it's a sort of diversity in unity. It has so many different countries and different cultures separated by borders and yet we do share a basis for values and traditions or history. Although, essentially the East and West are different.

America and Europe are nearly completely different mentality wise.

Britain and Europe are also very different. I don't think anyone actually likes Britain on the continent.

As far as Western and Eastern Europe go, another large difference.

In the west the division of mentality is easily divided among Germanic and Romantic lines (in my opinion.) However even in this division there are huge divisions. Denmark has nearly nothing in common with Germany when it comes to mentality. Scandinavia has a little love and mutual understanding though. I guess like Slavs do, fucking weirdos.

Italia311
03-24-2006, 04:45 PM
I see it being very similar, Canada and Britain, especially in my area. The homes, the architecture...its a product of Britain.

@Rocky: I really do believe there is a large differnce between Britain and europe...maybe not everywhere in europe, but as wheelchairman said the romantic lines.

I have kinda lost my train of thought because I started writing an essay...I dont know if I can make much sense right now.

Rocky-girl

Really when I started to learn English language I decided that England, Germany and France I very close. And I thought that they have the same stiles of life. In my mind I separate Europe on 3 parts:Scandinavia, Eastern and Central Europe, Italy and Potugal. I seems to me that stiles of life there are different. Don't know why.

Russia's idea for communism sounded so good but it just can't work

the idea for a utopia was tried before and failed. the first place that tried it was New Harmony Indiana. it started out allright but after the first generation died no body wanted to live by the old belief of the town, hence it failed.

so no matter how good the idea was it just can't work b/c we are so fucked up

It worked, but there was not communism there was socialism. And Russia was on the way to it, country came closer to it. And what is communizm? It is a dream about all that human need for good life. Than it failed, but we know many examples of failing big, strong countries.
So I don't want you to become a communst, I just want you to belive that it was really great and there is nothing bad in it (and in totalitarizm too, just in case).

Because of Englands geographical location, I do not see them part of Europe. Their culture, family values are very different to say, Italians, French, spanish those area. I feel that I have alot in common with french and spanish, even croatians, serbians because of our location. I see them as being european like I am, but england no.

Australia is one country, wars IN Australia would be civil then.

However Australians participated in WW1. The song "And the Band Played Waltzing Mathilda" gives the account of their efforts in Tuula bay. Awesome song.

And they were probably part of other wars, but it's an incredibly boring nation so I never bothered to care.

Bullshit. Social welfare and minimum wage in a country that's already economically crippled and on its way downhill? Russia needs . And yes, while Limonov is a genuine psychopath, I think he too would be far better for Russia than the idiot Zuganov.

Don't get blinded by your communist ideologies to fail to see where communism will only hurt a nation more. Perhaps in some time Russia can be ready for communism, but it will take many generations of Limonov's and Rogozin's first.

I believe that Russia was far more economically crippled in 1917 than it is right now. A return to communist values and an increase in the construction of infrastructure coupled with a system to provide wages, would not only increase consumption inside Russia, it would provide the networking possibilities for a stronger future.

Inciting racial violence however, will further tear Russia apart.

You were the one speaking Russian. I was talking to Sin Studly. However I will explain my post.

I support the Communist Party (with Zhuganov) because to help Russia, one must work and construct infrastructure (roads, train tracks etc.) so that in the future travel will be easy across all of Russia, trade will be quick and more reliable. And to further help Russia the buying power of the Russian citizen must be raised. Provide more jobs and increase consumption.

The Soviet Union only boosted Russia's economy through its massive expansion, and lets not forget that back in 1917 there weren't half the dangers Russia faces now. People have been exposed to Western filth, and no longer love the rodina like they used to. People are desperately trying to emigrate, mothers are aborting their babies because they don't want them growing up Russian, people are murdering and robbing because they want fancy western designer clothes and cars.

Yes, Russia needs infrastructure, and yes, the only iniative you ever seen from a Russian is from the mafia. So I agree that the government has to take the initiative when it comes to building this infrastructure, but minimum wage and social welfare are well beyond Russia's current means. Moscow should do what it can to increase jobs, and encourage foreign outsourcing of certain companies within their land before it considers the reforms Zuganov wants. There is no point trying to increase consumption when Russia still suffers from shortages of everything.

And Russia needs national identity. Russia needs racial hatred. Only people like Limonov can make Russians forget about how much they hate themselves and their country, and focus instead on how much they hate jews and niggers. That was the genius of Hitler, he gave his people something else to hate, and incidently they began to love themselves. I would support NazBol campaigns against small minorities only, and not a fullblown PanSlavic pride campaign, as Russia is too overwhelmed with Tartar and Mongols and Baltics to be ready for that yet. There should be a pan-Russian movement exclusive of Jews or Gypsies or whoever else they can find as a target of oppurtunity.

1.We don't need to choose new government, I think now we need new revolution, that's the only way to make Russia strong.
