it's hard to choose, because I'm not fanatic about any particular bands & there are loads of bands I appreciate a shitload. it's well possible the list will changed/edited, since I'm not sure I like it a 100%.

the Netherlands:
!!Endymion. (because of their name, obviously! never heard their music)

but seriously:
Racoon. (YES. yesyesyes! *orgasm* POPROCK!)
Within Temptation.
DJ Roog. (combination of Jazz, Dance, Garage & some more)
DAC. (lack of better bands - it's hiphop, if you wondered)
Lois Lane. (Lois L. for Americans)

UK:
PJ Harvey.
Radiohead. (which every one of you probably hates)
Skunk Anansie. (NOT Skin)
the Prodigy.
Garbage. (yeah yeah, Shirley's Scottish & she went international after Angelfish..)

US:
Stellastarr*.
Fiona Apple.
Nikka Costa. (born in Tokyo)
Dream Theater.
Jeff Buckley.

*adding: Luscious Jackson. (they deserve to be mentioned for quite a few songs)

Germany:
Chicks on Speed.
Guano Apes.

Belgium:
K's Choice.
Jacques Brel.

can SOMEONE *please* erase Wobbie Williams from this planet? because I seem to be the only one of my friends to thoroughly THOROUGHLY hate him & I just wish he'd be surgically removed from the face of this earth without leaving one single trace. kthnxby

I used to listen to all that crap with a friend - metal with obscure names & from obscure countries. I just wanted to try a little something from all musical scenes, no matter how sold out, 'popular' & cliché.

I don't know any specifics, but I do know both Sweden & Norway really must enjoy making metal. there's a lot out there. I've never liked any of it, though. I can handle Metallica, even willingly & even enjoying it, I can handle Dream Theater like I don't know what (<3), mostly because instrumental they're very impressive... & it doesn't go much further. obscure metal bands all sound very creative, but I can't say they all sound enjoyable to me.

Norway has Dimmu Borgir as a famous Black metal band and many other "burn the churches black metal" Finland has some famous deathmetal bands just like children of bodom, norther, diablo and sentenced , but usually Finland has been refferd as a Country of Heavy metal (atleast Dickinson said something like that).

Offcourse we have the only big deathmetal festival Tuska in here, so maby we are a bit of a death metal country.

I see your point, meh I seem to like all their songs except Swamped, that song was shit. Also, the band would be much better without the male vocalist.
Swamped *was* shit. but a lot of songs didn't live up to their potential. actually almost all of them weren't as good as I expected them to be. & they *should* probably lose their male vocalist. I listened to a bunch of their work, but the only song that managed to really touch me was "Falling". (& "Falling Again", which is basically the same without the windy intro)

Radiohead. (which every one of you probably hates)

I quite like them. High and Dry is probably one of my favorite songs ever.

I think the EP version of Falling is more lighter than the In A Reverie version I think, I've not listened to the album version for a while so I could be wrong.

oh thank GOD.<3

Yatesy; obviously I've had some 'bad experiences' with Lacuna Coil, as in they've produced more work I dislike, than work I like. this is the direct cause of why I don't own an album by them. I'm very picky when it comes to what I buy.

This is because lacuna coil suffers from being extremely average.
