*super cool noises to connote mental exploration and adventure followed by LeVar Burton's handsome face*

Oh man, once that song gets in my head, there's no controlling my actions.

*Sorry for creating a thread that no one outside of the U.S. will understand, and only about three or four of you IN the U.S. will get.

You're a good man, Endymion. That post confirms it.

I'm all for a live Reading Rainbow singalong shortly before Snakes on a Plane.

I will sing-a-long too!

I seriously don't ever remember watching that show, but I remember seeing the damn song all the time.

oh man I grew up with this show. It may be the reason why I watched Star Trek. Not to mention one of my greater inspirations to read.

But don't take my word for it!

That was one of the few kids shows I actually enjoyed. The only part I didn't like was at the end when the kids talked about the books.

JohnnyNemesis

Wow, more people appreciated this show than I thought! Good on all of you. I hated those kid reviews too, AAE.

guitarboy - I remember Wishbone too. That was quality television. I always thought of Frasier though.

I watched Wishbone. And read Wishbone. I even did a book report on a Wishbone book in Elementary School and my mom taped it.
But I did not watch Reading Rainbow. Reminded me too much of school (ick...)

the reading rainbow guy was on star trek for a while
but other than that he sucked

wheelchairman

Wishbone books? Doesn't that defeat the fucking purpose?

It would be like a reading rainbow book.

But don't take my word for it.

ruroken
03-30-2006, 08:31 AM
I didn't know when it was on, so I didn't get to see it very much. That's why I read the books.

Reading rainbow was a great show the intro was my favorite part. I watched wishbone all the time, I even had a wishbone stuffed animal.

Yeah man. I bet if I saw those now, I would like them because they would be cute, but at the time I was like "wtf? I'm YOUR age and I'M not fuckin' RETARDED. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?"

All About Eve

I was reading children's versions of novels by the time I was like 7, so the only thing I could think of was, "why would you want to read a book telling you about water?"

*da-dun-DUN!*

You're half correct. Actually, more like mostly correct. The lyric that was supposed to come up was "I can go anywhere", but "I can be anything" is sung at the end of the song.

For some reason I just sang some of the lyrics of 'The Reading Rainbow' to the beat of Afi's 'Hanging Garden'.

Fuck yes. All I need now is the Wishbone intro.

I approve of this thread. But don't take my word for it....Dah Dah DAH.

Edit: Oh man, I'm a loser! Wheelchairman already said this and I just read it! Well besides that, all I'll say is...if you didn't grow up watching Reading Rainbow, well then you just weren't raised properly and are doomed to failure!

I never actually watched it much. I was too trupunx to read. I loved sesame street, mr rogers, and carmen sandiego.

I remember that weird show. Actually, I remember the song more than the actual show itself, like someone else posted here over a year ago. Wasn't the show some dude sittin' on a log readin'? Yea, it never really inspired me to read.

JohnnyNemesis

That was probably me and it was probably this thread; I just bumped this one which I made a very long time ago.

And wtf again: more legitimate lolz from noodlesfan.

I knew that. But I rarely listen to version by the Cure.

That's why I mentioned it being Afi's version.

I'm assuming it's a different one than Babar. I remember the theme too, but nothing about it.

By the way: LeVar Burton touring his own Star Trek set and narrating while he preformed as Geordi was amazing.

Who remembers Captain Kangaroo?

Uhh well it's a rather cute part of European tradition. All the countries send entrants into this song contest. And everyone in Europe votes through their phones. They've been doing it for 50 years. You should get some people around you, and some beers and enjoy it.

I just looked into it... it's on in 2 hours, and my friends and I will be getting ready to go out for the night. I don't think anyone I know is planning on watching it, so I guess I won't be.
