I just found out a few days ago when I bought the Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) single (red version) that the song Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) was a different version to the one on the album. I'm guessing the purple single and the other singles have the same version, anyone know for sure?

So here it is:

As you will notice, in the chorus Dexter adds in a couple of words in the first part of the chorus and also changes the words at the end of the chorus.

So the new lyrics are:

So don't debate, a *something* player straight
(And maybe) you know he really doesn't get it anyway.
He's gonna play the field, (he's gonna) keep it real.
(But not) for you no way, for you no way.
So if you don't rate, just overcompensate.
At least you'll know you can always go on Ricki Lake.
The world needs wannabes.
C'mon and do that brand new thing.

I personally like it better than the original (album version). What about you?

Feel free to talk about it as well.

Yeah, that's why I made this thread. Not many people buy the singles.

I heard the single version before, I like it more than the one on the album, but maybe just because it's new.

Amazingly enough, I have a hard time choosing between slightly different things. It's like voting in the US Presidential Election.

It could be "This is a" but I'm sure it's "And maybe".

So you did. You have the purple version so that must mean that they're both identical in the lyrics.

All you had to do was listen to the song and straight away you'd see the difference.
