stop pretending you know what he's saying. yes, it's from def leppard. but those words aren't right- no one on this board actually knows. It's obviously supposed to sound german, but it's most definitely illogical. It sounds like "Unter lieben laufen löben", but it's illogical.

The correct spelling is:

Gunter glieben glauchen globen.

The lead singer of Def Leppard said it was a sarcastic 1,2,3,4 count to start the song because the mood was so tense in the studio. They liked it and left it on the final track. It is only a joke trying to sound german and has no real translation in any language.

“Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)” does much better in the humor department, but the music never rises above the generic. Apparently The Offspring paid Def Leppard $10,000 for sampling rights to the quote “Gunter glieben glauchen globen,” which appears at the beginning of both The Offspring track and Def Leppard’s “Rock of Ages.”http://www.campusnut.com/music.cfm?article_id=391

From what I know (which ain't much) "glieben" means "believed", and "globen" means "globes"...in German.

The sheet music for the song says "Oon-da glee-ben glau-ten glo-vin". But I think that's just to help people out in saying it.
