Yeah, where is Adriann? :(

I love Primus. They rule. A lot. My favorite album of their's is Seas of Cheese, but Frizzle Fry is great as well.

I don't really listen to them, but I like them. I should probably get a record by them.

And like other people said, Les Claypool is a great bassist.

I started out with Pork Soda, by Adriann's suggestion. It doesn't really matter, as long as you DON'T start with Brown Album or Antipop. I don't really think Tales from the Punchbowl is a good starting place either, but others would say differently.

Brown Album Always had a bad Reputation, i never minded it, i kinda like some of the songs, how can you argue with a guy using a bow on a bass?(Coddington)

Eaither album Les Claypool is Phenominal At Bass

He uses a bow on Glass Sandwich (punchbowl), Seas of Cheese, and Mr. Krinkle (pork soda). You don't need to get Brown Album to hear the bow-usage. He may also use one on the song Pork Soda, but I don't remember well enough to know.

Brown Album wasn't so much bad as much as the others were great. But I agree, don't start on the Brown Album. While it's not as bad as people would lead you to think (Coddingtown, Perverbial Mind Spread, Golden Boy) it's not brilliant.

Primus appear to be one hungry band.

I just don't like Brain's work on the drumset with Primus. It made them feel different and less... good. I dunno, that's just me, I think Herb is the best drummer for them.

Brain's not a bad drummer, Just Herb Fit in with the Primus Style better.

Les is one of the best bassists in the world.
The only songs I've heard are Jerry Was A Racecar Driver and Tommy The Cat (thanks Dave!) and I loved them both.

Pork Soda is such an awful CD. Every time I listen to it, it makes me hate Primus for releasing such a steaming pile of headache. Welcome to This World and Nature Boy are the only good songs from it. Tales from the Punchbowl wasn't much better... Brown and Antipop were both okay. But Seas of Cheese, Frizzle Fry, and most of all, Suck on This were amazing.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Primus fan, but I only like their ... good stuff.
Oh, and Les Claypool's work on the bass is incredibly overrated... He's good, but not that good.

Wow, that post makes me sound like I hate them with a passion...

Roger, I think it's only overrated by people that know of other rock groups with good bass parts. Compared to many jazz bassists, Les isn't as great as he's made out to be, but when compared to rock bassists, he's much better than the majority.

Yeah, that's true. Most bassists in rock bands these days just play what the guitar's playing. And most of the time, the guitar riffs are pretty bland, themselves. That's one reason I like Primus, it's not all a bunch of power chords. In fact, Ler rarely plays power chords.

Ler rarely even plays riffs for that matter. Mostly just solos and makes weird noises. <3 Ler.

I really like Primus. All of the instrumental parts are pretty amazing, mainly the bass. I have Frizzle Fry and Brown Album, and I have to say Frizzle Fry blows Brown Album out of the water. I'm really glad I started with Frizzle Fry and not Brown Album.

Some of my favorite Primus songs are on the cd, but it's still not my favorite because it's just too short. I know it's asking a lot, but a full LP with a DVD would've been like the act of sexual intercourse.
