Anyone hear the new Tool song on the radio? What did you think?

Sounds too much like all the other nu-metally bands to get me interested. Especially with the production on it. Then again, I'm not nearly as interested in Tool as I used to be so it'd take something really fucking good to get me really interested in their new album.

Just listened to it again. I like it a little more than I did originally. It does sound distinctively Tool-ish, there's only a couple spots that sound like generic nu-metally stuff. Still, I'm not sure I'll be getting the album.

Meh it's really nothing special. I love Tool and all, but this really isn't too much different from their other stuff.

I just downloaded the whole album. Haven't listened to it yet though

I think this album isn't as much a progression from Lateralus as Aenima was to Lateralus, give roughly the same amount of time to create it. Parts on 10,000 Days felt like they came of Lateralus to me, they just sounded so similar.

But them, I'm also not as big a Tool fan as I used to be, but then I never was at that crazy stage like two people I used to know.

New Tool? Has it been a decade already?

Tool's music is too "important" to release albums within 5 years of each other. ;)

"10,000 Days (Wings Pt 2)" and "Right In Two" stood out, the part from
"What are they going to do when the lights go down, Without you to guide them all to Zion?" in wings pt2 is mmmmm.

It took them 5 years to write and record a concept album about the Matrix.

I got a copy of this last night by the way. I'm still only halfway through it. I like what I've heard so far though. Much more than I expected to.

yea the new tool song is great

Has anyone heard the whole album yet? I haven't got around to downloading it, or possibly buying it yet.

Side note: I just read that "10,000 Days" is supposedly named for the amount of time between Keenan's mother becoming paralyzed and when she died. Weird, huh?

that would be just over 27 years

I haven't heard it yet but I'm getting a copy of the album soon though.
