It's www.pandora.com

I hate giving away my dirty little secrets, but I know a lot of people will dig this. At pandora.com, you type in a song (I chose "Bad Habit"!) and the site gives you a playlist of songs similar to that one. From there, you can tell it whether you like each song or not, giving it better accuracy in determining what you might like. Kinda like TiVo, from what I've heard. It's completely free. And el excelente. I've been on this shit for 4 hours straight. Give it a go!

I searched for Bad Religion. It's playing I Wanna Conquer the World.
EDIT: Now it's playing "Can't Believe It" by Pennywise.

Haha... love the way they express themselves: "We're playing this track because it features hard rock roots, vocal-centric aesthetics, minor key tonality, a gravelly male vocalist & angry lyrics."

haha, angry lyrics

so far I like it soso. On acoustic it gets corny really quickly, stays better on electric & vamp.

That's awesome! What song did you use? That's exactly the kinda stuff I wanna hear:D

Oooh, I've been there before, but I didn't know it was this sorta thing, so I left rather quickly. With your endorsement, I'm goin' back!

I already knew that. You can discover lots of different bands and you can "amplify" your musical tastes.

Are they actually ever gonna do a European version? cause they said that quite a while ago but they still haven't. Te site limits you to only a few choices unless you sign up, but you can only do this if you live in the u.s, that sucks.

Pandora... there are plenty of sites just like it. For instance, last.fm, which also has audioscrobbler. But this thread is really old... why was it dug up?

why was it dug up?
Well, some random person decided to bump the thread to basically state that they already knew about the subject of said thread.

The thread title is wrong. www.catswithstuff.com is way better.

Last.fm is the lamest excuse for a "radio" ever. It plays fucking crap if you have a slightly odd music taste.

I don't like Pandora's "love it or hate it" type of song rating, either.

Yahoo's custom radio system used to be really cool but it stopped working on Firefox.. :/

Of course nowadays I'm quite content in listening stuff in languages I don't understand.
