So I'm looking for headphones that I'm going to call magical because they need to satisfy the following criteria:
Good sound
Comfortable
Cheap
Portable/Convinient

I recently got a Creative Zen MicroPhoto and the buds it comes with kind of blow. I have big goofy headphones but I don't want to walk around campus with them and they don't go into pockets.

I don't know what they're called but I have these headphones from Sony.
They are these small things that you stick the back of into your ear. It has this thing around it in the shape of a human ear that fits pefectly on your ear. They have really good sound and are actually quite loud.
If I had a pic, I'd show it to you.

^ I was actually going to suggest those exact headphones. Ironically, the ones I have are blue.

They're loud, with good sound, they're kinda comfortable, very portable, and currently cost about $10.

Yes, but get the right color. If you get like, lime green they look really tacky.

Great sound. They're either perfectly comfortable, or not at all, and not at all usually only comes with glasses. Not extremely portable, but flexible, and smallish, so you can fit them in tight places; very hard to break them. The little ear rest thing comes off easily, but you can't really tell a difference. You can usually find them for around 15-20 dollars.

The blue pair is the most common one. I used to have orange ones, then black ones. After that, I've seen only blue ones sold.

Thank you very much, I'll look into that.

Even though Tired_of_you said they didn't like them, whenever I wear them, I forget they're there. After a few minutes, it's hard to notice them.

I always use Sony ones, without the thing that goes in your ear (I can't imagine that being comgortable), but they are shaped a little, so they don't fall out of your ears as quickly. And I like the sound.

Lemme see if I can find a picture.

Pic won't hotlink, so click here (http://electronicsunder100.com/library/SonyMDR-E818LP.jpg)

These. You can't really see they are shaped here, but they are a little. They have a little volume thingie on the wire too, which I personally like a lot.

Mine tend to break, but that's just me I guess, they always do, no matter which brand I take. They did again the other day, I need new ones, sound from one ear sux0rz.

Even though iPod headphones annoy me, I just bought a pair of retractable iPod headphones for my friend, since her birthday is coming up...so I figured I'd buy myself a pair too and check 'em out. I'll tell you what I think once they arrive in the mail.

I concur to the fullest, but the lure of the retractable option was too much for me to resist! What I was searching for on eBay were retractable headphones that AREN'T earphones, but I'm not even sure any of those exist :(

These might be, but it's the cloest possibility I've ever seen.

How about those plug things? Koss the Plug or whatever?
http://www.progamingshop.sk/images/sparkplug.jpeg

Good sound: it's alright, but sometimes a bit too much bass. You should be able to fix that if you change the equalizer, though.
Comfortable: check. These kind of headphones don't get any more comfortable than this.
Cheap: check. They don't cost that much.
Portable/Convinient: check, except that they (and most other headphones) just become a huge mess if you put them in a pocket.

Are they available in the US? No idea.

Oh man, plug headphones, any plug headphoes, are the worst. I wanted headphones, not to be raped in the ears. I have something else for that, thank you.

Those were the ones that came with my player. They suck and the fuzzy parts fell off and I lost one of them. They now hurt my ears too much to use. Getting new headphones this weekend I guess :[

I'd rather be raped in the ears than having headphones that fall out all the time. Like the ones I have now, they're way too big, so the right one keeps falling out/almost falling out.

Boo! You suck! Get off the stage!

Oh, wait.

Anyway, I use plug headphones, but mostly because they seem louder, even though I know they're just destroying my ears. And they hurt sometimes.

lolz, you people are going to have permanent hearing damage. 'Plug' headphones are supposed to make it so it blocks out (some of) the outisde noise making so you don't need to make it so loud.

I've looked at the shure and etymotic varients of in ears. I'm just put off by the 'what if' scenario of breaking them because of the cost.

Mmm. Shure makes possibly the most distinct yet affordable performance microphone. I bet their headphones cost a pretty penny though.

The shure e2c in ears are a little cheaper than an sm58.

A friend used to use them with a wireless system for monitors when playing in a band. He said it was a really good investment. Though if you were to use some you'd end up with earwax in your pockets or whatever probably.

No, I know your headphones. You use bud headphones. Plug headphones are like the ones I bought for $24 and threw out the next day.

Does anyone else constantly break headphones? I swear to god that one side goes dead in every pair I have within two months.

0r4ng3

That happens with me sometimes. Once I threw out a pair because I thought that the left headphone was a bit quieter, but it turns out it's my left ear with the problem.
