((I got this from a bulletin on MySpace. Sorry for any misspellings and/or horrible grammar.))

Anybody under the age of 13 should not read this, and if you should, you should not repost this.

Just because you were born in '92 doesn't mean you're a 90's kid.

It's not like you could remember the original Simpsons. I am sorry but three conscious years of the nineties just wont cut it.

You're a 90's kid if:

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "SIKE!"

You can sing the whole rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"

You remember when Kurt Cobain, Tu Pac, River Phoenix, and Selena died.

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off"

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

you danced to "wannabe" by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto, Males: got a whole lot gay-er. (so tell me what you want, what you really really want.)

You remember the craze then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the red* Ranger were meant to be together.

To the last sentence you said.....hey...Tommy was the green* ranger!!!!

*later to be white

When playing power rangers with friends you fought over who got to be who............and still all ended up being tommy.

You remember when super nintendo's became popular.

You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , and 3........and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

"I've fallen and I can't get up"

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

Two words... Trapper Keeper.

You ever got injured on a Slip 'n' Slide

You wore socks over leggings scrunched down

"Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack, all dressed in black, black, black, with silver buttons, buttons, buttons, all down her back, back, back" SHE ASKED HER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER FOR FIFTY CENTS CENTS CENTS TO SEE THE ELEPHANTS PHANTS PHANTS JUMP OVER THE FENCE THE FENCE THE FENCE
he jumped so high high high he touched the sky sky sky and he didnt come back back back til the forth of july ly ly he jumped so low ow ow he stubbed his toe toe toe and thats the end end end of the elephants show show show

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players

You remember New Kids on The Block when they were cool

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"

You played and or collected "Pogs"

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere

You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles

NANCY DREW AND THE HARDY BOYS WERE THE BEST MYSTERY BOOKS

Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.(pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)

You remember when the new Beanie Babies were always sold out. =[

You used to wear those stick on earings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.

You remember a time before the WB.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" ... enough said

You thought Brain would finally take over the world

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You remember when everyone went slinky crazy.

You remember when razor scooters were cool.

when we were younger:

Before the MySpace frenzy.

Before the Internet & text messaging.

Before Sidekicks & iPods.

Before MIKE JONES

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX.

Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.

WHEN LIGHT UP SNEAKERS WERE COOL

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded stuff on VCRs & paid $3.50 for a movie.

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.

When 2Pac and Biggie where alive.

When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.

Way back.

Tag.

Get Over Here!!!! means something to you.

Hide-n-Go Seek at dusk.

Red Light, Green Light.

Heads Up 7 Up.

Playing Kickball & Dodgeball until your porch light came on.

Hopskotch.

Slip-n-Slides.

Skip-It

Tree Houses.

Hula Hoops.

Reading R.L. Stine's Goose Bumps and Fear Street

HELLO....HOT WHEELS!!!!!

"POWER OF LOVE" BY CELINE DION..ONLY COUPLES COULD SKATE TO THIS.

The annoying Nano Pets & Furbies.

Running through the sprinklers.

That "Little Mermaid"

Crying when Mufasa died in the Lion King. Every time you watched it.

Happy Meals where you chose a Barbie or a Hot Wheels car.

Getting the privilege to sit in the front seat of the car.

Drinking Sqeeze It "Squeeze The Fun Out Of It"

CAPRI SUN

Watching Saturday Morning Cartoons in your PJ's still wrapped up in your TMNT, Power Rangers, Barbie, Fairy Princess comforter.

Hey Arnold, Doug, Rugrats.

The original Power Rangers

Or what about:

The Secret Life of Alex Mac.

Ren & Stimpy.

Double Dare.

Rocco's Modern Life (best show!!!)

AAAHH!! REAL MONSTERS

Wild & Crazy Kids.

MR RODGERS!!!!

Who could forget Snick? & Nick @ Nite with Bewitched, I Dream of Jenie, The Facts of Life & I Love Lucy.

Where everyone wanted to be in love after watching The Wonder Years.

or nick jr. with face(i luv face!)

gulah gulah island

little bear

under the unbrella tree

PEE-WEE HERMAN!!!

The Big Comfy Couch

Kool-Aid was the drink of choice.

Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school.

Eurika's Castle!!!

Class field trips.

POGS

When Christmas was the most exciting time of year.

When $5 seemed like a million, & another dollar a miracle.

When you begged to go to McDonalds for dinner everyday.

When Toys R Us overuled the mall.

Go back to the time when:

Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'.

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming 'do over!'

'Race issue' meant arguing about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever was banker in 'Monopoly'.

act like you didn't watch afro-king BOB ROSS paint trees on T.V.

It wasn't odd to have two or three 'best' friends.

Being old referred to anyone over 20.

A chance to skate as a couple at the local roller rink was like winning the lottery.

Scrapes & bruises were kissed & made better.

It was a big deal to finally be tall enought to ride the 'big people' rides at the fair.

When playing Nintendo was the hardest thing ever.

When Ninja Turtles ruled the world.

DID I DO THAAAAAAAAAT???

smud and yak back. skip it and pop it.

bop it

boy meets world

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear

WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT YOU'D MISS THE 90'S SO MUCH!!!!

Your a 90's kid when you read this and smiled and laughed at least 5 of these.

I was born in 91' but I remember a lot of that stuff. I used to love Nickelodeon's "Rocko's Modern Life" and "Ahhhhhhh! Real Monsters!"

Those were the best shows ever. I used to love the Oregon Trail gave, trying to shoot all the deer, and Goosebumps were my absolutely FAVORITE books.

Man...you make me really miss the 90s now :(

I remember most of that stuff, it's only about the 50th time I've seen this list.

If anyone's not clear on Tommy (whose actor is now a top ranked Muay Thai fighter), here's the best way to sum it up.

In episode 17 of Season 1, he came to school, was kidnapped by Rita Repulsa, turned evil, given the green ranger powers, then became good and joined the other rangers. Then he lost those powers in episode 35, got them back in episode 50, then in episode 73 became weakened to the point where he couldn't use them anymore. So Zordon gave him new white ranger powers in episode 77/78.

When Mighty Morphin' ended, he obtained the Red Zeo Ranger 5 powers in episode 2 of Zeo. Then he got the Red Turbo powers. He later came back in season 12: Dino Thunder as the Black Dino Ranger.

darea
05-06-2008, 04:26 AM
I remember a lot of that, but a lot of it if for people living in the US and not me.

Id add that smurfette isnt the only female, cause once there was another little female smurf with red hair... and their real names are schroumphs anyway!!!

- Bioman were there before power rangers!!! and they were cool and crappier but for those who like PR, it would have never existed without bioman.
- You mentionned Prince of Bel Air (thats how we call it in france) but you should also mention 21 Jump Street, it was really popular in the early 90s, when it came out.
- obviously : the first time I heard the offspring, in 1994, special for all those who were listening to them at the time smash came out.
- French people could only get the simpsons on cable or satellite channels, so all I got was the game... I think Dragon Ball and other Mangas of the time were much more popular in France in the early 90s...

thats all I can think of for now (if Ive talked of this youve mentionned, well its because your list was really long, and Id need to read through it again)

But anyway, I was born in 83.

leo3375
05-06-2008, 09:40 AM
A lot of the stuff on that list was from the 1980s, not the 1990s. I was an awkward teenager in the 1990s and a small child in the 1980s. Oh, I was born in 1981.

One of my fondest memories was watiching Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast just before bedtime on Cartoon Network.

It was by pure coincidence that I stumbled upon that show again a couple of months back, having forgotten all about it in the meantime. Of course, back then I had no idea of how absurd this show was, and having rediscovered it was a pleasure. It has also lead me to discover some of my other new favourite shows, like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law

A friend admitted to me that he has a thing for Auntie Mabel. A secret fetish. Auntie Mabel (I think only Britain got this programme) was a middle aged, busty woman from the educational programme Come Outside and she flew in a polka dot plane with her dog Pippin, who had its own lunchbox and wore a large blue ribbon.
That and the "magic E" song defined my pre-school.

EDIT: it was properly sunny today for the first time this year, so my friends and i reverted to childhood and played Stuck-in-the-Mud (the under the legs freeing option), POLO, and duck duck goose. And we chose who was "on" by eeny meeny miny mo...

I was surprised at how old leo is.

Stuck in the mud sounds like freeze tag. And to rescue the stuck people, the free people either crawl through their legs or go under their arms.
We considered that the first sunny day of the year was one of the few socially acceptable times for a group of 19 year old girls to crawl through each others' legs, so we went for it.

I was born in '92 and I still remember some of the stuff like the goosebumps and arguing over who got to be the Pink Ranger at recess. Playing "Miss Marry Mack" in PE when we had to be in our "pick up lines". My Mommy ever let me have a tomogatchi pet though. "Are You Afraid of the Dark" scared me, but I was a faithful viewer. I luvd the rugrats, doug, and hey arnold. So don't assume that we didn't do some of the stuff just becuz some of us were born in the last decade before the new millenium.

This list is missing the Ghostbusters, and Rocco's Modern life. And the good ol days of punk rock - when everybody who sold more than two digits worth of albums was a sellout, and it was genuinly fun.

Okay.

This list is missing the Ghostbusters
Pro-tip for you balla: the first Ghostbusters came out the year I was born, which was 1984. Yeah, like the Orwell book. It's a good read, but I much prefer Anthem by Ayn Rand. Like, sit down and read the novella in one sitting. That book is good. But yeah, both Ghostbusters were from the 80s. Which makes them great. I'm a year younger than my sister. And four days.

Punk rock is gay as fuck. Wait, you were talking about nineties punk? Wait, lol. Okay, that's cool man. Feels good man.

you know ur a 90's kid cuz you remember the sega dreamcast and crazy taxi

You know you're a '90s kid when you watch Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT.

Those don't really count as 90s cause they were like at the very end... Dreamcast was like '98. Sega Genesis? Now THAT was 90s.

Yeah, you're right. The 90s were just when I became aware of them, watched the cartoons, and got the action figures.

Now ofcourse 90s punk rock is gay as fuck. Said I was gonna be lame wasn't I? But their gayness is what made it fun. Don't act like you didn't get yourself into some gay shit when you were younger. I mean fuck, we're on an Offspring board, aren't we? At some point and time, I'm assuming you seriously liked this music. I did. Now I play a cd from time to time and the musics ok, but if it wasn't for the gay ass nostalgia of it I don't think I'd own these cds today.

Musical tastes change? I once thought the Offspring was the best band in the world...now I think they're allright. Listened to some of the old stuff the other day piss drunk with freinds that knew all the words, it was fun because of the nostalgia of it.

You joined late last year though?
Well they're not gay, I can think of a lot worse bands that are getting away with being called Punk these days.

Christ budzy don't be so fucking sensitive.

Just because one guy thinks your favorite band is gay, doesn't mean they are, nor does it mean you have to leap up to defend them at every slight.

And mid 90's offspring was pretty gay. that was literally the style of rock music at the time.

You could really stand to diversify your taste in music. Whenever I play music for people it's never the same song, let alone artist.

Sometimes it feels like I am. But nah I was just trying to remember something in Dutch, but my vocabulary is so small :(

Also I'm relatively certain Cartman didn't start saying that until the 2000's.

I can't even begin to tell you how many levels you just got me on. Almost every single comment you got me smiling and remembering a time when I was happy. The only things I didn't know where things I missed since I have always been pretty anti-social and didn't follow all the trends. I'm 22 and at a point in my life where I hate where culture is going and looking back at times I loved but retrospect I appreciate even more. If I don't see things coming back to the times I love so much I might have to just leave without the check.

These made me laugh!

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "SIKE!" (still do)

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons. (oh, yeah)

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school. (that game was awesome)

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off" (memories...)

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf. (either Smurfette was a whore or they were gay)

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

You ever got injured on a Slip 'n' Slide (fucking tree)

You played and or collected "Pogs"

Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!

You remember when the new Beanie Babies were always sold out. (I also remember chucking 'em at my sister)

You know the Macarena by heart.

You thought Brain would finally take over the world (he'l be a better leader than Bush...think about it...cartoon rat > Bush)

You remember when everyone went slinky crazy.
