Ok so I guess some of you might know this
http://www.mpa.org/news/show/5
The idea of this thread is to discus this ^

Now for me this is extreemly anoying because I just started taking up guitar and all the good tabs are on MSB (http://www.mysongbook.com). Now one option is for the site to go pirate which in my opinion totaly sucks cause then we will have to use linux to safely navigat it cause of viruses and spy/add ware.

Now this mean that tabs are ilegal in case they dont have authorization. Thats BS because
1. Its just like copying someone's work and that happens alot in the music industry. And ur not making a profit out of it.
2. I dont belive people will settle to listen to GP's and Midi's, i think they'l still buy the album if they want.
3. What about foreign bands. do they still go under U.S jurisdiction ?

This is soo much I came up with so far

Illegal tabs ? Whats next ? Its ilegal to listen to your album ? Its illegal to sing in the shower ?

You should check out MX Tabs. They're just as good, and they already went through all that legal bullshit, so they're safe to use again.

or a mac. or use a browser that doesn't allow arbitrary code execution...

Its ilegal to listen to your album ?
the RIAA apparently has the say as to whether we can rip cds to our ipods or not (http://techdirt.com/articles/20060509/1726202.shtml)
