Post your thoughts on the game. Gonna buy it? If so for Gamcube, or the Wii?

It looks awesome.
I dunno, maybe Gamecube. I don't what the Wii's price will be. I guess I should've watched more E3 coverage.

Dude, I think the Wii is gonna be about $150.00. Nintendo wants to appeal to gamers of all ages and they can't charge too much for a console, or else they'll never gain the gamers they wanted to attract.

My father has the Gamecube, but I doubt he'll buy the new one when it comes out which I don't feel like naming since its name is so horrible. So I want the game and I'll have it on the Gamecube. It seems awesome. When is it going to be released anyway? I know they say in 2006, but anyone knows a more specific date?

October 1st. I'm pretty sure.

what's with all the wii hatin'? i think it's a fine name.

and theories on the price are all around 200-300.

In a way I think Nintendo has to have a big price for the Wii because the other two consoles are expensive, but then again, I think it won't be too much because Nintendo is trying to appeal to people who have no clue about gaming.

Nintendo specializes in selling to kids. Fact.
I'm interested in the Wii ('cause I still have a kid's heart -- kinda) and LoZ : TP, but I probably won't get them for now, since I'm on a very tight budget at the moment.

i just have to <3 nintendo for having the balls to innovate so much while the ps3 and xbox360 are just more of the same.

The Wii controller trailor looks like it was marketed toward teens/young adults though. They're definitely trying to change their image.

As for the name, every other famous console has had a stupid name. Playstation, Super Nintendo, Gameboy, etc.. are all stupid and cliche when you think about it.

After watching the link Jebus posted I have to say I'd rather play the new Zelda on my GameCube. I'm really not taken in by the Wii controller.

And to be absolutely honest I'm not too happy the PS3 are doing away with the vibration in their controllers to have a "tilt" mechanism instead.

Apparently the Wii has ports for gamecube pads. The new Smash Bro's game can only be played with it.
As for Zelda!! its looks so cool, its great that nintendo are allowing the GC to go out with what could potentially be its best game.

Those ports will probably be for GameCube controllers to play GameCube games. I can't see Nintendo making their new Wii games compatible with the old GameCube controller.

Probably more on the low end of that. They're not really trying to compete with PS3 and the 360 in the hardware department so it isn't going to be quite as powerful as those two in that respect. That'll probably drop the price by a good $100-150.

Now that 'classic' controller looks sexy...

After seeing that, the Wii controller doesn't seem so bad after all...

I was totally impressed with the Zelda graphics / game play too!

Yeah, I like the classic controller. I especially like how they ripped off the Home button from the Xbox360. Still, that controller is another reason I'd probably get a Wii.

I think it won't be too much because Nintendo is trying to appeal to people who have no clue about gaming.

Nintendo is the foundation of video gaming, so all of their die-hard fans are the people who know more about gaming than all the kids who hopped on the PS and XBox wagons. They can actually afford to pursue a new market because they have a strong base already wrapped up.

Yeah, but if they get outrageous with the price, it will have been a waste to even try to get other people besides Nintendo fanboys to buy the Wii. Satoru Iwata said that "Video games are meant to be just one thing: fun... fun for everyone." So Nintendo is going to put a certain amount of money into it to make the system appeal to everyone. If the price is too high Nintendo will have wasted their time and money into trying to make the system innovate everyone.

it'll be the cheapest one. i'd give 95% odds that it'll open at either 200 or 250, and definitely no higher.

0r4ng3

I heard it's 250. I can see how someone would get that and the 360 instead of only the Playstation 3.

Rinoa

They can always buy the cheaper PS3 with the 20GB (as apposed to the 60GB) hard drive. Only problem is they'd be missing out on several features the 60GB version would give you.
