What do you think of the Goo Goo Dolls?
My fav song is probably "Iris" or "Name".

I like them. I downloaded "Iris" a couple weeks ago, even though I hadn't heard it in a few years. What's some more of their good songs? I need to download them...

I love the Goo Goo Dolls. They're from Buffalo, NY, which is about an hour and a half from where I live, in Rochester, NY

I've got a good version of it. Want me to upload it? BTW, I've never uploaded anything before. If you want to hear it, you'll have to tell me a site to use. It has to be a free uploading site.

http://www.mp3x.us. You have to get an account with the site first, but that's no big deal, it doesn't cost anything. And I just found a good copy anyway, so don't worry about it.

From Goo Goo Dolls I've only got the live version of IRIS with Avril Lavigne, and I think they might be good, but Avril Lavigne kills the song so I couldn't tell...

Addition to Tree's list:

Ain't That Unusual
Girl Right Next to Me
Big Machine

Otherwise I absolutely love all of those songs.

I know it's a single, but Here Is Gone is probably my favorite song of theirs.

"Hey Jealousy" is NOT NOT NOT by the goo goo dolls!!!! It's by the Gin Blossoms!!!

and "girl right next to me" is the only song listed that's not a "new" ggd song... and nobody listed any songs that Robby sings!!! I own all of their LPs except the self titled that's out of print... "Jed", "Hold Me Up", "Superstar Carwash", "A Boy Named Goo", "Dizzy Up the Girl", "Gutterflower", and "Let Love In". "Superstar Carwash" is by far their best... but it came out before their fame.

Song I think you should check out:
7th of last Month
Artie
Gimme Shelter
On Your Side
A Million Miles Away
Domino
String of Lies
We Are the Normal
So Far Away

Those are all songs off their pre-fame albums. If you're looking for the mellower, more produced stuff, check out:
Flat Top
Somethin' Bad
January Friend
Bullet Proof
Hate This Place
What A Scene
What Do You Need
Smash
Stay With You
Without You Here
Strange Love
Become

also, if you want songs that you can't find, or you want entire albums, PM me... I can send you zipped files of albums.

Goo Goo Dolls are really, really horrible. Doesn't help that they totally reek of mid to late 90s bullshit pop rock.

However, the song "Dizzy" is really great and catchy. I love that song.

I honestly think that you should atleast listen to some of their pre-fame music before you form your opinion. I totally see where you're coming from, but if you heard their stuff from their first three or four albums (before the success of "name"), the other guy sang almost all the songs, and they were actually rather a punk band. Hit up amazon or rhapsody or something, and listen to some of the songs that I listed... if you've heard that stuff before, can I ask what you hate about it? Cause it sounds SO different from the new stuff.

ilovellamas, stop trying to be so "OMG, U GUYS ONLY LIEK POPULAR STUFF!!!" Seriously, it's lame.

But anyway, I like the Goo Goo Dolls aswell, but I think that Dizzy Up the Girl is probably their last fully good album. Gutterflower had a few good songs, but it was pretty weak overall. The new album is fucking horrible.

I generally agree. However, Big Machine will always be my favorite.

ilovellamas, has it ever occurred to you that maybe we've heard the older stuff, and just liked the newer, better produced, Rzeznik vocalized, more mature sounding stuff better?

umm, that's not at all what I'm saying... you only like popular stuff?? uhh obviously I like the new ggd music, and the new offspring music... both of which are considered popular. all I'm saying is I know a lot of people who didn't like ggd based on what they'd heard, but then they heard the old stuff and thought it was awesome. I just think that the band has a lot of good stuff to their name that people don't know about.

I dunno, it always bugged me that the chorus is just a louder version of the verse.

Acoustic #3.
The original's kind of boring, but the version with an extra string part is great.

I actually quite like her cover of fuel. to be honest, that whole MTV icons thing for Metallica was full of good covers. Apart from Snoop Dogg and Sum 41's efforts.

We're on the subject of horrible covers by Avril, and no one mentioned the very, very worst one?
