Halo is without a doubt the most over-hyped and overrated game in the history of the world, and I'll have no part of it's continued and inexplicable success.

The reason that the Halo series does so well is because it's kind of the mascot game of the Xbox. Think of how many crappy Mario games there are, and how well they sold. Another example: Any recent Sonic the Hedgehog game.

I don't see it either. I played a bit of Halo 1 and it was fun to play with the AI, but i got bored very quickly.

I was playing Red Faction's single player campaign at that same time and it seemed ten times more fun and creative.

Halo was good, for about 1/2 hour.

I hated Halo 1, and I don't like Halo 2. I just enjoy playing xbox live with my friends, I'm interested in seeing Halo 3 but I'm not all over excited about it.

halo was only popular because it was better than other console shooters. it was pretty lame by pc standards.

I may be wrong here, but wasan't there a game called PlanetSide that would come out for PC before the fucking XBOX bought the game? I remember it would simply be the awesomnets of multiplayer FPS for PC at the time. And now i'm wondering if Halo wasan't PlanetSide's twisted child.

I can't google it now, my bandwight is on it's full.

Halo is good when you have been drinking and play it with a load of friends who have also been drinking. Apparently, the solo mission is hilarious to play stoned. I am dubious.

Halo was always called Halo. It originated as a Real-Time strategy game for the Mac back in 1998. Microsoft bought out Bungie, and turned it into a first person shooter for the Xbox in 2001.
