Okay, my anti-virus is out of date, or the subscription ran out or something (I think I had a trail version of something). Can anyone recommend a good one, preferably free, or a free one until I can get another one? I've heard SpyBot is supposed to be good, but I'm not sure.

spybot is like Ad-Aware; against spyware.

I really don't know, I've never bothered with it before. I don't really have any problems; the main reason I want one is that the out of date warnings keep popping up and it's uber annoying.

Which one did you have?

AVG and Avast! are both pretty good.

None. I didn't even realize I had one before it went away.

Edit: Download.com, Endymion?

I use NOD32. From what I hear, it takes the least resources from your computer. It's not free though. You could find a crack somewhere though.

AVG is also good.

AVG is great. Once you turn off all its background apps.

I'd recommend AVG Free Edition. Its efficient, decent, and you get free updates etc every day or two.
