So I'm in an improv/sketch comedy group up at school. We mostly do short-form improv (akin to Whose Line type stuff). Our last show of the semester, we had a healthy serving of sketches, including one that was written and cut by me! zogm! The very end of it doesn't make sense because we connected all our sketches to an extent, so it's a reference to a sketch called Doctor Cop Lawyer (that I actually posted here (http://www.offspring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24198)). It's the first sketch I've ever made, and it took me like 6 hours to edit so let me know what you think.

Hahaha, the first cut to the other guy's thoughts cracked me up.

Nice facial expressions.

Ok, first it almost killed my internet and made me ANGRIES, then it got to a good part and got STUCK and I had to wait for it to download all the way, but now that I've seen it all, I can say it's most definitely been worth all of my morning troubles.

This is why this BBS is still worth reading - pre-class entertainment!

Thank you sirs and maddames.

The editing was a fucking bitch and a half. There were tons of takes so I had to find all the ones I liked, and it was pretty hard cutting them together. I think I sat at a computer for about 6 hours one day to get the bulk of it done. For four minutes of video.

It was very good.
very, very good.
Did you really cut and edit it yourself? What programm did you use? It is fantastic. Have you done it before? Cutting is a difficult task when you want something to turn out perfect.
PS send me the vid.

I used iMovie HD on a mac. So it was a combination of my first time using iMovie, a mac, and my first time doing serious video work. It was indeed difficult to get it to look the way I wanted, because I wasn't going to present something half-assed to either the group or the audience. The file should be available for download here (http://www.skratch-zero.com/hosted/RPS.avi).

Thanks for the link!
I really admire people who cut and edit well. I am extremly interested in movie making, but I'm quite talentless when it comes to that stuff. I completely forgot that you made comic type of things before. Good times :D

hooray for positive response.

Bella - It's actually not too difficult, depending on how basic what you're doing is. iMovie is pretty easy to figure out as you're using it, as is Windows Movie Maker. Addmitedly, iMovie is a slightly more powerful utility but I'm pretty sure it's only available for macs (but it's free).
