View Full Version : What do you enjoy most?

I found out this past week that the most fun I could ever have is to play drums for a rock band. I played as a guest drummer for a local band and I had the time of my life. If I don't end up being their official drummer, I am definitely starting a new band. I didn't even like the style of music e were playing that much (we sounded exactly like Blink-182) but I still had so much fun.

What aspects of this wonderful life do you enjoy the most?

I know how you feel man. I've been a guest drummer before, even if it's not your band it's extremely fun. I've been a drummer for 6 years now and Jamming in a band is probably what i enjoy most.

*What I enjoy most is going swimming with my boyfriend. This seriously has to be the funnest thing I've done. I love it so much.
*I also enjoy very good movies a lot. I know nobody will agree, but the LOTR trilogy is the best thing that happened to me. I watch the extras more often than the movies.
*And of course, orgasms have to be on this list.

Discovering new music that I love.
Going on spontaneous roadtrips.
Getting lost and finding my way again (in the physical sense, not in the bullshit psychological sense. Like, either driving or hiking.)
Geography. Just scouring a map for a good half hour is a perfectly decent lazy activity for me.
Reading stuff I wrote a long time ago, especially on the rare occasion that I realize it wasn't too bad.
Playing sports that I suck at with other people who also suck.
Drunken conversations late at night.
Traveling to new places, exploring them.
Water sports (jet skiing, water skiing, being on any kind of boat in general).
Seeing old friends
Music, movies, books, and video games that somehow just fucking immerse me in them.
Sex (this is a given.)

Sunsets over the ocean.

Damn good food.

Discovering new things and getting to know them better - exploring a city, finding an awesome local bar and then bringing your friends along enough to become regulars.

Cultivating relationships.

After-pub kebabs/curries
Feeling superiour
Drumming (goes with the first, but deserves an honourable mention)
New music
That feeling of extreme happiness when you find out that you have more money than first thought
The feeling of smugness when you decided not to go out, and it started to rain
Seeing Villa win (which is rarely :()

challenges.

something to me is a challenge when it's not particularly easy, but you'd love to accomplish it anyway. it has to do with passion - pure emotionally what I love & want - & overcoming difficulties in the process of following those wishes. so yeah, that involves love & relationships, learning through experience, my studies, playing music, surviving on my own... a pretty broad answer, I hope it's to your satisfaction.

as for moments; moments that involve adrenaline. playing for crowds, things like that. whatever is intense involves things I love & care about. the things I mentioned sum that up pretty well.

Organizing. It could be anything. I love ordering and feeling busy.
Playing instruments. Especially piano.
Playing basketball with nice people although I unbelievebly suck at basketball.
Bullying annoying little girls at school.
Eating good food without getting fat.
Reading good books in a silent place.
It could be anything if I'm with nice and funny people.

Keeping things in order - the things most people can never be bothered to do but I will because I simply want to.

Listening to good music, and finding more good music.

I love playing games sometimes, though the main ones are Half-Life 2, Deus Ex and Deus Ex 2.

Though I rarely seem to do it, I actually did like reading any kind of thriller.

Sleeping.

Drinking.

Though I don't do this often either, watching good films.

the timeless burrito-and-a-beer combo, good lovin in every sense, making pretty things out of ordinarily mundane things, walking while listening to monsterous tunage, going to 80s metal concerts and triumphant things in general, um. surfing and getting wet in general (AHAHAHAHA.ha.), the river gorge, going on drives through Big Sur(I live in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. eat my ass), mob movies, laying in bed reading, laying in bed gossiping and theorizing about who should bone whom and other ridiculous nonsense, toe sucking, photo albums, hand-developing black and white photography, homeless people, fellas, barbeques, fiestas, road trips. ohhh many things.

JoY

I just screen articles in mags that are lying around in the toilet. (well not IN, you get my point) if I think I might like one, I start reading it, untill I'm done & ready. I don't exactly sit there with my pants to my ankles longer than I need to, untill I've read every word of it. if I indeed like the article, I might take it upstairs with me to fully read it.

I've had really in depth conversations about this with my ex. "Why does it take you so long?"

Cause it always took him at LEAST 10 minutes. Always, without fail. Me, it takes like, 2 minutes, max, except on a very rare occasion.

And he explained that you don't push, you just wait for it to happen. This intrigued me, and I attempted to take a long time. I really did. But for one, it didn't work very well. And secondly, it was incredibly boring, so I gave up on that and went back to business as usual.

So I guess my confusion comes down to not why guys read in the bathroom, but why they take so damn long in the first place that it actually necessitates reading.

Endymion
06-18-2006, 12:37 PM
well, at least for me it's a chance to get away from other shit. much of the time it's the only opportunity i'll have that day to read. i relax, take my time. it's kinda like taking a long shower.

unless i've got deadlines, then i hurry things up.

Betty
06-18-2006, 01:59 PM
I just CAN'T physically take my time. It does not take a long time, even if I try. Relaxing parts of my day include: showering, eating sometimes, sleeping, walking to or from school with my discman, definitely not taking a shit.

Anyhoo, I don't read, but it does take me a while. It's one of those things that requires your full attention so you don't fuck everything up. Or, at least it is with me, but I'm kinda weird like that.
