I love these guys. They have a cool style, and they're fun to listen to. I'm gonna be seeing 'em at Wasted Festival. I can't wait.

I've got the album Mediocre Generica, and it's awesome. Definately a must-buy for any punk rock or ska fan.

Choking Victim were better but even they weren't very good. As far as NJ-area ska is concerned, Catch 22 & Streetlight Manifesto are probably at the top with SGR in second place.

Unless they got a lot better than they were 2 years ago you're not missing much.

Choking Victim was better, Leftover Crack sort of annoys me but so did Chocking Victim at time. They aren't worth listening too.

I'm not really a fan of Lo-Cash stuff. I like a few InDK songs and Choking Victim is alright (I have one of their cds), but it all gets kind of old. A lot of the melodies are cliched and their lyrics are primarily focused on squatting, hating cops, and doing drugs (and suicide).

Plus I don't like the vocals much.

From what I remember, they were alright, but the singer kinda annoyed me. I think I liked Leftover Crack more than Choking Victim, but I haven't heard either in a while.

They're one of the only popular ska bands that I really haven't gotten into.

Leftover Crack is one of my favorite bands now. Fuck World Trade is a master piece. I heard Leftover Crack before Choking Victim so thats probably why i like them more. but theyre basically the same band.

I saw them last night at The Living Room in Providence. Such A FUCKING GREAT SHOW!!!

I just listened to a few 30 second clips of Choking Victim... It sounded like Operation Ivy with less good. I didn't like it, but I can imagine it being fun live.

yeah theyre from New York, they got banned from Cambrige which is right next to Boston, Theres no where in Boston itself that theyll play because the only clubs that have shows are run by Clear Channel, they wont play those venues. Theyve been banned from almost every club in New York, cuz of Fuck Wolrd Trade. but oh well, thank god for Tompkins Square Park.

I think theyre better than Op Iv, more variety in their music than them.

I'm starting to really love Leftover Crack, but I have a question. Don't call me stupid, since I'm a new fan, but what's the relatinship between Leftover Crack and Choking Victim?

Choking Victim and Leftover Crack are basically the same band, with a new bassist and drummer. leftover crack has recorded a few CV songs that the band didnt like. if u like LoC u'll like CV

I might get one of their CDs soon. Which one first? People are always telling emto get Mediocre Generica first, but I really like the songs I've heard from Fuck World Trade (and Mediocre Generica too).

I'm not too keen on the singer's voice. I just got Fuck World Trade and besides that it seemed generally alright. Maybe I'll like them properly after listening to them a bit more.

I'm glad this thread was bumped, because I've recently started loving them. The singer is an aquired taste, but once I got used to that I really got into them.

Their only real downside is the sickenly emoish song titles. As ninth and Ricky demonstrated. Also, they take themselves way too seriously. Almost all of their songs is about how society is fucked up, cops suck, or just controversial topics that they seem to have taken a radical stand on.

I still like them though.

Here is their myspace, I like One Dead Cop and Rock the 40oz best off this page (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=44884556)

"why" is actually what I meant.

The emo-ish song titles can be amusing at times, but other times, like Life Is Pain for example, they fit the song meaning well, at least I think so.

They are terrible cliches and made me not want to listen to the songs because I assumed they were just some modern day emo band.

Im glad I finally did give them a listen, because I love Leftover Crack now. But the song titles still are awful.

Has anyone seen their music video for Rock the 40 oz? I found it on youtube and thought it was some cheesy fan made video. But then I found out it was an official video. It has a pretty low budget, but I still like it. The only thing I don't like about it is that Stza is wearing a shirt of his own band, which I find a bit loser-ish at times.

The bands conversation outside MemoryLanes earlier this year after their first show at the Kremlin house, pre-show at memorylanes. "Man, he doesnt even caaaaaaare abouttt the baaaaaaaaaand anymore (slurring, incomprehensible sentence) he's on so many drugsssssss mannnnnn, you hear him sing? He doesnt even say the wooooords anymore mannnnnnnn, he's all stop the insanity shrjkewrhrhhehehe eirN@ YEAH MAN WE NEED A NEW SINGERRRRRR." Afterwards, inside...lots of rude gay cum jokes, angry crowd, and acapella because the lead singer fired his band. Silly boys.
