Vowels

A Black, E white, I red, U green, O blue : vowels,
I shall tell, one day, of your mysterious origins :
A, black velvety jacket of brilliant flies
Which buzz around cruel smells,

Gulfs of shadow ; E, whiteness of vapours and of tents,
Lances of proud glaciers, white kings, shivers of cow-parsley ;
I, purples, spat blood, smile of beautiful lips
In anger or in the raptures of penitence;

U, waves, divine shudderings of viridian seas,
The peace of pastures dotted with animals, the peace of the furrows
Which alchemy prints on broad studious foreheads ;

O, sublime Trumpet full of strange piercing sounds,
Silences crossed by Worlds and by Angels :
O the Omega, the violet ray of Her Eyes !

It depends. Is Y a vowel or a consonant?

That_Guy91
06-25-2006, 10:23 AM
Both and neither.

Could you use it in a sentence please?

I get reminded of that ABC song for children.

And I don't see why I should have a favourite letter. Numbers work with people when they have a lucky number. But letters, what the hell?

OK, this is a stupid example, but I'll use it.

If you mean a word that has no vovel, that isn't one, it has an a.

Words like Cry, Dry etc, small words, the Y will take place as the vowel.

X. Because it's two slashes and it's rarely used to start a word. I also enjoy J and K.

. Q is awesome, though. I hate that nobody ever lets it stand on its own in the english language. everywhere Q goes, there is U. Fuck U! U is a piece of shit! Just leave Q alone, damn it! I'd like to see some words that had a Q and no U.

That's technically not an english word.

Actually, I think it is. I'm sure it's different in other languages. Kind of like how Germany is Deutschland in German.

Qintar, Qindarka, Qatar, Faqir, and a few more.
Those aren't technically english words. Those are Albanian words.

This thread only proves how weak the letter 'Q' is. I mean, it needs 'U' to back it up, for fucks sake. It's a pretty bad state of affairs when you need 'U' to help you out.

Q loses.

However, my vote goes for either 'A' or 'I'. Not only are they hella versatile, they are words in themselves - which shows character. A good letter has to have character. Unlike that crappy 'Q' :mad:

R. That's always been my favourite letter, but I've never managed to pronounce it. Which is pretty cool in a way. It'll always have a special place in my heart. I love you R. Or maybe I should say ejdjjddsh.

That's what I meant when I said I can relate.

I don't particularly have one, but if I were to choose, I'd go for J, simply because it's the first letter of my name. Come to think of it, I kinda like J.
