Happy Fireworks Day!

It would probably be a better holiday if it associated with something patriotic, though.

So what're you lovely bunch up to? I'm about to head down to Long Island where my friend has a boat we're taking out all day.

I'm having some people over later to blow things up. Nothing special...just going with the classics.

I'm not huge on patriotism, but I'll use any excuse I get to blow shit up.

I've been watching a Project Runway marathon and we bought more fireworks today. We have a really big box, a smaller box, a small bag, giant sparklers, little throwing ones, and a big "The Nuke" fountain.

...a few illegals here and there too...

THis is a bit unrelated, but I just wanted to say how awesome my dad is.

A year or so ago, he went to Virginia to train some new pilots (he works for the Air National Guard [reserve]) and in Virginia, fireworks are legal. Of course, the weather in Arizona is so dry that fireworks are banned here because of the risk of fires. Anyway, my dad bought a big box of firewokrs, hid them in his bag, and smuggled them into Arizona on a military plane. Yes, that is mky story of the day. I hope you enjoyed it.

Wait, you're going to blow up immigrants? That's awesome.

I quite dislike this holiday. It's loud and annoying. I think I may have turned 80 and not realized.

I had a nice one. Grilled swordfish and other veggies, some platano, an awesome salad, toasted marshmallows and awesome burgers.

And fireworks.

And good friends!

God, you guys are such... guys!

On the first of July Iiiiiiii got reeeeeealllllyyyyy drunk, ate tons of delicious barbecued food at our BBQ potluck extraordinaire, made boys do tequila shots with me, smoked a teeny bit of BC weed, listened to fireworks faraway in the distance, found a boy for some celebratory drunken kisses, passed out on a pullout couch, and woke up well-rested with absolutely no hangover. It was a fabulous weekend.

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

I'm sad to say that I didn't really do much for the 4th. A bunch of my friends and I went to Paul's Steak and Eggs and grabbed American food and Budweiser (I had a huge-ass "Cajun Burger" with everything 'cept mayo), then afterwards went to an expat bar and ordered shots of Absinthe. And sang "America the Beutiful" and "The Star-Spangled Banner". Yeah, sure, it was OK.

But the people in the bar with me kicked my ass. They bought some red t-shirts/bandandas, a fuck-ton of tea, went to a nearby lake, rented a paddle boat and reenacted the Boston Tea Party. These are the type of people I want to know. Oh, AND! a couple of them apparently know Mr. 10,000, so I might get to meet him. But yeah, it was a decent 4th.

As much fun as that sounds, no. :( We got some illegal fireworks, that shoot up fast and loud and explode wonderfully. Miniature versions of the ones that are typically used by the professionals.
