Let me in on some of that orgasm action. Richard Hell kicks ass. So do the Dolls.

And if we're talking 70s, the Dictators should also be mentioned.

*cough* Ramones *cough*, Misfits, Damned, Magazine. I suppose Joy Division are classed as post-punk, so I'll go for Warsaw.

Yeah... uh. Sorry. Now let's talk about 70s punk! What about those Sex Pistols, huh? Seriously though, 70s punk is alright. I'm not that into it, but it's OK.

80's punk > 70's punk. Both were good, though.

The Ramones > Every other punk band.
I do like alot of old punk though, The Damned, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, the usual lot really.

Some more good 70s bands,

The Adverts
Zounds
Crass
X
X-Ray Spex
Radio Birdman
The Weirdos
Pagans
MC5
GBH
The Stooges

edit: The MC5 existed mostly in the 60s, but they're still worthy of the list.

I don't consider the MC5 a punk band, despite their greatness.

Anyway, Dead Boys > all.

Yeah Dead Boys are a good band. But I really love the Rezillos and Sham69.

I am shocked and appalled at the clear lack of people mentioning the freaking BUZZCOCKS!!!!

Not to mention the Bad Brains and D.O.A.

Edit: Grammar.

First of all, the Sex Pistols were only a band in the 70s. Second, yes, The Clash had albums in the 70s. Third, The Descendents were a band in the late 70s, but that was pre-Milo, and they weren't a punk band yet.

i know, i was stating sex pistols, and clash, and the late 70's thing was only applying to the descendents

Nineteen Seventy Nine

I'm all for the most popular ones.

Ramones (Have many of their albums)
The Clash (Train In Vain is my ringtone)
The Damned (New Rose is my second favorite song of all time)

I don't know

I love 70's punk, specially ramones, sex pistols and dead boys

The Ramones, bitches!!! Misfits, Clash are good too. And the Descendents, even though I consider them more of an 80's punk band, are dead awesome.

The Ramones and Sex Pistols are INCREEEEEEDIBLY overrated, but I like The Ramones anyway and I listen to their self-titled album fairly frequently. I think the Sex Pistols just plain sucked, though.

I like Crass, and The Clash before 'London Calling'. And of course I like The Misfits, and Bad Brains and Dead Kennedys' album 'Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables' was released in 1979, and the Dead Kennedys are my favorite band, so...yeah. :D And Black Flag's early stuff was better than the stuff with Henry Rollins, IMO. And The Germs fuckin' rock!
