For future reference: This is better. (http://www.offspring.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9)

I'm sure the moderators will move this for you.

Oh noes.

I'm hungry and I don't know why I posted this. So go ahead 'moderators', move this thread before it plagues this beautiful, self-indulgent pitiful hole.

After about 30 seconds of the same monotone voice reading words to shitty bass lines, I want to use a certain TOOL and dismember every member.

(here's a hint, the tool rymes with rain-jaw)

I not a Tool fan-boy (I only have one album), but I will admit that they are an incredible band. A bit repetitive, but an incredible band nonetheless.

Tool is alright, but possibly one of the most overrated bands out there.

I've never heard a single Tool song in my life. They aren't on iTunes, that's where I'd sample their music to see what albums to buy.

If someone could reccomend an album or song; or upload an album or song, it would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Well, not exactly "buy".

oh please, you're not that fucking stupid.

So, I really don't want to listen to a Tool song? Maybe iTunes was just trying to protect me.

I can understand not enjoying Tool's sound, but they are a group of very talented men. They do so much with dynamics, tempo changes, key changes, and time signature changes... that is extremely rare in popular music. The talent that's required for them to maintain the cohesion they have is beyond words. I can understand not liking maynard's voice. The only reason they're repetitive, though, is because you don't like them. A song like "hooker with a penis" sounds NOTHING like "refllection"... which sounds nothing like "ticks and leeches"... etc, etc, etc. All of their albums have completely different sounds, too.

And I can't stand Tool fans. I like Tool, but I would never call myself a Tool fan because of the association that goes along with that title.

Saying that Tool is composed of talented musicians is fucking funny. The fact that I can play most of their stuff means that they lack most musical talent.

playing it and playing it the way they do (and with a band... not alone) are two completely different things. Let me hear you play some of their stuff and I'll let you know if you play it *well*.

I agree with ilovellammas whole-heartedly on this one. It is one thing to play a song and a completely different thing to do it with a group. Besides, you have nothing on Danney Carrey (sp?).

And I don't think you could even handle the meter changes, not to mention all kthe other stuff that goes on.

oh, i fully agree. i highly doubt noodlesfan can manage to suck and blow at the same time.
