Not a single Chili Peppers video on there? They probably have the best videos of any band around today.

Oh well, at least Take On Me was #4.

that was a bad list.

I haven't seen a good majority of those videos, but I'm sure it's a bad list, for the sole reason that it is a Best of list. They always suck. That is the first rule of best of lists.

I agree with Jesse on this one. Pretty bad list, even though I haven't seen many of those videos. I was pleasantly surprised to See Sabotage up there, but i think it should have been higher. IMO, the greatest music video ever made.

Wasn't a great top 100 to be honest.

And after reading that paragraph about the #1 before watching it, I was disappointed.

Umm... where's Michael Jackson and MC Hammer?

Edit: I kind of like this list (http://www.rockonthenet.com/archive/1999/mtv100.htm) better.

Edit 2: Rolling Stone tried it (http://www.rockonthenet.com/archive/1993/rsvideo.htm) too.

That list was much better, but it was still pretty bad.

It's a nice waste of time, but i've only seen half a dozen of those videos in my life.

These ones i really like:

017. R.E.M. – “Losing My Religion”
016. The Chemical Brothers – “Star Guitar’
009. Daft Punk – “Around the World”
018. Smashing Pumpkins – “1979”

there will NEVER be a perfect list.
no matter how many lists are made, people will always complain. I personally don't like that list either, but it's nice to spend time watching music videos :D

It's alright, (the MTV one). I really do like how "The Beautiful People" was on there, because it's one of my favorite songs and videos.

As a rule all "best of" lists suck, but that sucked really really badly.
Some terrible choices.

Where's all the Primus?

That was actually a better list than most.

Radiohead's "Just" should have been even higher though. I don't give a fuck what anyone says or thinks about anything, that video is perfect storytelling.

Call me a fag, but oh God I love that Modest Mouse video. It probably should have been higher.

Okay, I just want to know why the hell most of the best videos weren't in the Top Ten. "Thriller" should be much higher, and Madonna's "Vogue" was nowhere to be seen. And why the hell is Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" at Number 2? It should be at Number 1! (Try to watch it without at least getting ferklempt.)

This opinion is coming from someone who was born hours after MTV debuted.

Agreed. Heck, "Helena"- My Chemical Romance was higher. That just doesn't make sense to me.

I've been into them Pet Shop Boys for a while now. Good shit for damn sure.

On my own personal list, Radiohead's "Just" and "Karma Police" are both in the Top 5 videos of all time. Still, like I said earlier, pretty good list.
