I guess this weekend at some comic book convention, they showed 2 rough clips of the Simpsons Movie. And of course, someone put them on youtube. So, for those interested. Remember, it's the animatic (early black-and-white test version), so the animation isn't perfect, although it looks like once it's cleaned up it's going to look really nice.

Clip #1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDEsOh2mIvE&search=simpsons%20movie)
Clip #2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlDYmmC3Ra0&NR)

Clip #1 is amazing for Dr. Hibbert's line alone.

Haha, Mr Tini FTW. I really can't tell if the movie is gonna make any money. From what I see, it just seems like a really long Simpsons epidsode. I can't see any reason for making it into a movie when they could just split it into a few episodes and just run it on tv.

The whole novelty of putting the Simpsons on the big screen will sell enough tickets, so I'm sure it'll make enough money.

As for the "long episode", I have a feeling it'll be a lot bigger than a regular episode because they've been writing it for like 3 or 4 years now.

Are we sure that was The Simpsons? It was actually funny. That hasn't been the case for about 5 years.

Maybe they've been saving all the funny for the movie.

Looks decent. From what I understand they got like 12 of the original writers from the show to come back to help with the movie. The newer writers are working on it too though so I wouldn't expect it to be good the whole way through.

They sure waited long enough to make this movie.

Actually, it's mainly just older writers, and they have more say over what goes in the script than the newer ones. The newer ones are too busy working on the show to deal with the movie.

Hmmmm, looks good. I hope it includes a lot of celebrity mockery. That's when the Simpson's are the funniest.

According to most of the places I've read, he's not involved.

Conan was the first thing I thought of when i heard about the old writers. Imdb says he's not a writer.

Endymion

seriously. conan wrote two of the best episodes (the monorail one, and the one where homer goes back to college).

HornyPope

It's true, monorail ruled.

This few scenes here remind me of the era circa Halloween special with Zombies.

I've stopped watching The Simpsons quite a while ago. Maybe the movie brings them back to life for me?

Doubt it :/

not to mention he created the Sea Captain.

I'd be willing to miss a few new Conan shows for him write another Simpsons episode.

Fuck. Damn you all, all of you for watching those clips and telling everyone how great they are. Then you have to go and tell me that the movie is written by the old writers. Then just when I'm about to see the clips, they've been removed!

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait a little longer until someone else posts it somewhere else again. But yeah, I can't for the movie now.

I didn't like that last line, but I did like the "run! run! rest!" thing because it was timed well.

The trailer was brilliant. I can't believe the clips were removed! Gutted.

I reckon the novelty of big-big Simpsons will sell tickets though. Hell, I try and act like a purist, but I'll be going to see it. It's Simpsons, but BIGGA!

Does anyone have a place where I can see the ones posted in the first place? They were obviously removed by now.
