I have a 30GB Video iPod. I got it for good grades, and I pitched in $100.00. I've used about 5 GB or so of memory.

To erase everything, click each song and hit "delete." Only thing I can think off.

...are you kidding? I filled my 4 GB Nano up in a few weeks.

Also, Lauren's right, you can't delete stuff directly off the iPod.

Then how do you get rid of them?

I have an iPod shuffle, and honestly i hate Itunes program , and my battery needs replacing after only a few months of use. Then i picked up a Creative Zen player, its way superior.

An 8-Track is superior to an iPod Shuffle.

a) the ipod is a hard drive. you can treat it as such. this means reformatting, defragging, etc etc. itunes renames files to some hash key so they're all stupid random numbers and letters rather than a nice song title. it's so the database lookup -> file read process is streamlined by naming them the same as their primary key. or something similar, anyway.
b) i'm using ~50 of my 60 gigs.

I bought an ipod video 60gb last May but it broke down even before I used it once  The fucked up thing is that it all happened just a day before I was going home (I bought it in Melbourne). Thank god my aunt (who lives in Melbourne) was able to change it for a new one and a friend of here will bring it to The Netherlands within a week :)

RARR. i'm getting my ipod video fixed.. sometime. and no, i haven't learned my lesson, i fully intend on buying the 6th gen ipod the day it comes out.

i'm still on my first ipod and i got it over 2 years ago. no problems with it at all, except i hate updating it because i have no patience whatsoever. and since i rarely update it, when i finally do it takes forever...which makes it even more annoying. grr.

I used to have the the early 20gb iPod and also used to have a 30GB Video iPod. Then I broke the video by jumping in a pool with it in my pocket, accidentally, and then broke the other one a coupe months afterwards (a week ago) after leaving it in the care on a hot day.

I was/am planning on getting a 40gb soon anyway since I only had a couple gigs left on the video. For the time in between, I have to burn CDs.

Oh, and for a warning, just in case it hasn't been mentioned yet, the iPod is always shorter on space than advertised, because my 20gb couldn't hold anymore after 14 gigs.

than you have/had some serious formatting issues, it should probably have been 18gb or more. When my 30gb was working I had 27.something gb's of space. The hard drive gave up. I've not invested in another.

I've never got an iPod and tbh, I've only really heard bad things from friends who have had an iPod mini/shuffle etc. My mini Creative mp3 player will do me fine, until I find something bigger that can hold more.

because 1) all the other mp3 players that i've played with suck even worse/are hideous

2) as long as the damn thing is on warranty, apple WILL replace it with a new one, pretty much no questions asked. even if the screen is cracked or something like that.

Yes, I have an Ipod. I bought it used (so no warranty) and it's broken now. Buying a hard drive is too expensive so it's just sitting in on top of my tv. *sad*

Buying a hard drive is too expensive so it's just sitting in on top of my tv. *sad*This has reminded me, I bought my ipod refurbished from Apple so it came with the same warranty as a new one, but was cheaper than the 20gb model. Cool/shit was that at first the screen display went a bit wacky. The cool parts were when it was upsidedown or written backwards or both. The shit parts were when only partial text was displayed, navigation and artist/album selection became difficult. I got a good 1.5-2 years out of it I think.

My mother has a mini and my brother has a nano, both of which I could use, but I really dislike.

Somewhat because I would never use shuffle because I dislike some of their music.

And somewhat because I've got too much music for them both.

I would love to have a larger one, but all money I get I end up spending on music.

This angers me.

Straight A's and I get two cd's. Well, can't complain I guess.

I just got mine, the 30gig. I'm only up to 4 gigs, but I only have a small portion of my music on it. I'm guessing I have a total of near 7-10 gigs. Then there's always any videos I want to have on it.

I have about 66GB of music. And I listen to all of it. I wish I had a 60GB, but creative stopped making 60's, so I had to get a 30 :( Less than half my music fits on it, so I'm constantly switching stuff up on it.

I'm on my 3rd, though the first one was a Christmas gift. First one broke because I had to be a dumbass and not by a case for it, second one was stolen.

I heard Microsoft is gonna release a rival to the iPod. Whether I still have a working iPod or not when that comes out, I'm buying one for the principle alone.
