Didn`t see a thread about Papa Roach yet. I just listened to their new album "The Paramour Sessions" and I must say that this is in my opinion one of the best rock albums of the year. There are some real hard songs on it, but also some slow songs which you wouldn`t really expect on the album. Sounds great! Check this album out, I can really recommend it to you.

I have papa roach's first three albums. infest blew. lovehatetragedy is great. getting away with murder was alright. if the new one is anything like gawm, I won't bother, cause it was too generic.

I'll have to download it when I get the internet back on my computer at my dorm. I'm at home now.

man, that single was terrible IMO.

I'm listening to it now, and I'm about half way through - not even. But even if every other song is crap on it I'd still be happy with some of the songs they've produced. And for those who didn't like the single (To Be Loved) the rest of the album (so far) isn't that similar, give the album a chance.

No, I'm just too amazed that this many people actually like them to type.

Thomas, I love the first album by them called "Infest" so I'm checking them out when they have something new. I didn't get into other albums somehow.

Jakebert

Infest is the only one I've heard all of the way through, and sorry, but it sucks gigantic ass.

Infest doesn't suck gigantic ass. It's 3 times Platinum in USA. Yeah, selling out does matter. :)

Infest was AWFUL, no matter how many albums it sold. I can't stand that album. Lovehatetragedy was good, though, IMO. Once they ditched the shitty rapping, and stopping singing about suicide.

Why do so many people dislike Papa Roach? Are they like Green Day and it's "cool" to hate them or something?

I genuinely think that they are boring and that I would just like to not listen to them.

Llamas
09-10-2006, 02:22 PM
nah I can see why people would not like papa roach. if you've only heard "infest" then I'm with you. If you've heard all of it, then you probably just think it's generic, which I can agree with. doesn't mean I don't still like some of it.

Jakebert

I've heard a lot of the other stuff too, since a lot of my friends listen to that kind of crap, and it's just incredibly boring.

Jakebert, I'm just curious... I know you like offspring and green day, but otherwise most of your talk on here is against the bands being talked about. wondering, what are some of your favorite bands?

Jakebert
09-10-2006, 04:07 PM
R.E.M., Sonic Youth, Pink Floyd, Bad Religion, Husker Du, the Pixies, Elliot Smith, Mono, Pelican, Beatles, Minus the Bear, the Mountain Goats, Dead Kennedys, the Doors, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, ect.

Really, the main reason I come off as negative here is because usually the bands I like aren't discussed here because the main types of music talked about here are usually just generic mainstream rock or punk rock, which I've grown out of for the most part. Or if they are talked about I usually don't have much to add outside of "I like them", which is kind of boring. But either way, it depends on the threads you look at. If you were to look at the right threads, you'd see me talking about bands I like. I know I've talked about how much I love Pink Floyd in quite a few threads.

Come to think of it, I do remember you liking REM and pink floyd. Props for liking the pixies and johnny cash. There are a few there I haven't heard of, most of them I like... but I don't like REM.

I guess no one is willing to upload it:(I've been waiting for that too actually. I've viewed this thread every day so far, still no link. Guess I'll have to search for it myself then...

I never really liked Papa Roach except for a short period. I still listen to 'Blood Brothers', 'Last Resort' and 'She Loves Me Not' every now and then though. I've seen them playing a relative good set a Lowlands a few years ago but I've only seen half of it because they played on the last day at the end of the day. Quite curious what they still have to offer.

Pink Floyd is an awesome band.

He was being ironic, his favorite band is Depeche Mode, quite easily the gayest band ever formed.
