The Top Gun soundtrack is one of the most popular soundtracks to date, and some say that it captured the heart of the 1980s with its music.

Is it the best soundtrack from the 80's?

I like it but I prefer *The Goonies* and *Back to the future* better.

Top Gun plays Take My Breath Away like 1432613 times, fuck that.
Fuck the Goonies, I can't even think of who's on the soundtrack, but fuck the Goonies regardless.
Back to the Future soundtrack? Buy a fucking Huey Lewis album.

Ford Fairlane, Rock and Roll Detective gets my vote.

The Lost Boys soundtrack is easily one of the best ever, except you forgot to mention that 99.5% of movie soundtracks suck.

Overrated soundtrack: Breakfast Club. I like the songs and all, but yeesh!

I'd like to point out that "I'm A Lonley Boy" (the song Mike sing in the bath) isn't on the soundtrack. Which is rather dissapointing as it deserves to be.

Cradle of Love - Billy Idol
Sea Cruise - Dion
Funky Attitude - Sheila E.
Glad to Be Alive - Lisa Fisher, Teddy Pendergrass
Can't Get Enough - Tone-Loc
Rock 'N Roll Junkie - Mötley Crüe
I Ain't Got You - Andrew Dice Clay
Last Time in Paris - Queensr˙che
Unbelievable - Yello

Ford Fairlane has everything:

Andrew Dice Clay as the protagonist Rock and Roll Detective
Gilbert Gottfried as a sweet ass shock jock named Johnny Crunch
Ed O'Neill (aka Al Bundy) as a disco obsessed cop
Wayne Newton as a villain
Priscilla Presley
80s hairmetal
a koala
Jazz: Well, that weekend was a mistake.
Ford Fairlane: Hey, look. I'm sorry I made you clean the toilets and the bathtubs, I mean, who did all the work in bed?
