www.explodingdog.com (though it's not a comic, per se)
www.dieselsweeties.com (can be hit or miss)
www.redmeat.com
www.drmcninja.com (yes, that says Dr. McNinja)
www.mitchclem.com (SARC and NN2S are both good)

Perry Bible Fellowship is quite good too.

I was reading those ones for a while. Some made me laugh a little but some were just crap. But overall I liked the idea of it and I'd give it a 7/10

Ctrl+Alt+Del and Shortpacked are the only online comics worth reading.

Even though Tim Buckley's supposedly an asshole, his videogame comic is amazingly good.

Why has no one mentioned Questionable Content (questionablecontent.net) yet? That one's my favorite.

I read several others, but my other favorites are Ctrl+Alt+Del and Sinfest.

Questionable Content was about as funny as Marmaduke. Or Cathy. :(

Morning Glory was utterly hilarious. And I plan on spreading it around to everybody.

This comic was recommended to the bbs by a guy I've talked to personally (over the phone), sKratch.

Kid Radd (http://www.kidradd.com/)

One of the few webcomics that had a single story arc, with one of the most creative premises I've seen and a damn good story line. You have to read it in Internet Explorer and it gets off to a fairly slow start, but I'd highly recommend sitting down and readikng through it on a rainy afternoon. Or now. Yeah, how about now. C'mon, you don't have anything better to do.

Ornery Boy (www.orneryboy.com)

Another good comic about a moody couple and their pet zombie.

Men In Hats (www.meninhats.com)

This is what would emerge if Samuel Beckett grew up in the internet age. A wonderfully, hilariously absurd comic.

A Modest Destiny (http://www.squidi.net/comic/amd/index.php)

I've only read the first "season" but I very much enjoyed it. It's a humorous fantasy epic. With ninjas.

Everybody Drunk But Me (http://www.bigcheesepress.com/brandt.php)

An autobiographical comic about a girl's year in Russia. I got a small e-crush on the author while reading it.

It Never Rains on Monitor Hill (http://www.waterlizard.com/comimg/oldinr/inr1.htm)

This absolutely amazing little autobiographical comic about a group of kids trying to figure out life and love while lost in an adult-less suburbia. Seriously awesome.

Pupkin (http://www.bobbycrosby.com/)

The single worst, most fucked-up webcomic I've ever read in my life. I still have no idea what the fuck is going on inside the author's head. I mean... just what the fuck?

It Never Rains on Monitor Hill

Whoa, reminds me of my own life in so many ways it's scary. The pranks, the group of friends, the girl I think I love but she's taken, feeling lost, wanting to get out of my hometown...cool.

So many of these comics are just..... bad.

I feel like mentioning the ones specifically might insult the people who posted them though.

Edit:
Hell with it. Questionable Content isn't funny and it never rains on monitor hill is for whiny bitches.

I know, right?

It was very considerate of me to not post the only two or three good webcomics there are because they were already posted.
It was tempting though.

Would you rather I post an unfunny comic so you can read it once then close it out?
Alright, here's my decent contribution - http://www.wondermark.com/d/223.html

Actually, considering the fact that "funny" and "unfunny" are subjective terms, and the thread is all about making suggestions and discussing people's favorite webcomics, I'm pretty sure he and others would prefer that.

Does anyone at all find Kittens funny?
Kittens! The Comic (http://www.mitchclem.com/kittens/)

Either way, there are other posters more annoying than myself. Please don't ridicule me just because I said your comic was for whiny bitches.

JohnnyNemesis
10-23-2006, 02:27 PM
I'm not ridiculing you at all, and you said nothing bad about any of my comics. Heck, you're not annoying in the slightest, and shouldn't even be compared to folks who are. What I WAS doing was pointing out that there was no need for your high horse.

And Kittens is a complete waste as far as I'm concerned. It falls right in line with Mitch Clem's annoying habit of turning what appear to be inside jokes into comic strips (see: half of San Antonio Rock City)

Honestly, I'm not offended if someone doesn't like Questionable Content. Like it was said, "funny" and "unfunny" are just subjective words. Also, humor isn't the only reason someone would read a webcomic.

Don't get me wrong - I don't really care if you don't like my comic. Hell, I even agree with you that the narrator in It Never Rains can be a whiny bitch. The fact that you can't see past the often-annoying protagonist to the universal themes the comic addresses is your own shortcoming. What got me wasn't that you insulted the comic, it was that you made a swipe at me while you did it. Saying it was "for whiny bitches" after I put it up as a comic I like is pretty much calling me a whiny bitch, now isn't it? So this isn't just about insulting something I like, it's about specifically insulting me. The fact that your insult was misplaced made it even more annoying.

And hell, even if you hadn't mentioned any specific comic I probably still would have called you out for being spineless. And yes, there are worst posters than you, but not in this thread. I'm just annoyed by anyone who thinks their opinion is worth voicing when their opinion isn't any more substantive than "this sucks". You add fucknothing to the conversation except an attempted projection of your own superiority over the participants and a general feeling of ill will. I shouldn't have to sit here and explain to you the proper way to converse.

Kittens actually makes me laugh, I don't know why. And It Never Rains is an amazingly addictive comic, even though it's really more of a story with pictures than a comic.

I just saw in the first post/forgot to mention: Joe and Monkey. Except for the recent sporadic updates, it's an awesome comic.

Saying it was "for whiny bitches" after I put it up as a comic I like is pretty much calling me a whiny bitch, now isn't it?

Not intended. I was jokingly taking a shot at dain because he said the comic mirrored his life so much. Note the word Jokingly. I like Dain most of the time.

And hell, even if you hadn't mentioned any specific comic I probably still would have called you out for being spineless.
Spineless? If I was spineless I wouldn't even be defending myself, and I can argue with you all day. I'm so bored now that CC practice is over.

And yes, there are worst posters than you, but not in this thread. I'm just annoyed by anyone who thinks their opinion is worth voicing when their opinion isn't any more substantive than "this sucks".
I wasn't intending to put forward that the thread sucked. Hell, it's a great idea for a thread. I was however trying to state that the thread went horribly awry and half of the comics were just downright terrible. It's been pointed out that that's based on opinion. That to me seems like a valid opinion.

You add fucknothing to the conversation except an attempted projection of your own superiority over the participants and a general feeling of ill will.
Again, not intended. My post meant nothing more than to state that I didn't like some of the comics. If that type of post is wrong, then perhaps you should have led by example instead of just ruining the thread more than I already had.

I shouldn't have to sit here and explain to you the proper way to converse
By all means - don't. No one asked you to, and I'm already sufficient.
