The movie ''the texas chainsaw massacre'' has reached cult status in sweden, since it was banned when it came out. i think its a great film.
have you seen it, and what is your opinion on the film being banned?

I saw the trailer in the cinema last week, seemed like another Saw/Hostel kinda movie, what's so special about this one? I might download it.

youre probaby thinking of the remakes.

in 2003 there was a remake of the original film, which was released in '74.
the trailer you saw is probably the trailer for the sequel to the remake.

it was the original film that was banned in sweden, however the ban has vanished.

i think the first one was banned in Norway to. everything gets banned in Norway.

Remake indeed (http://www.texaschainsawmovie.com/).

I'd have to rent the original one, too much trouble.

ok. the original is a real classic. i recommend it to all horror fans.
although the sequels to the original are very crappy.

Fairly entertaining movie, but i was dissapointed with the weak amount of blood. It has to be more exagerated, creating a pool that reaches the people's knees after each death. I mean, they're ALL meant to make you laugh, right?

I haven't seen it, but I know what it's about. Just some guy with a saw killing people.

I think it's stuipid how it's banned in Sweden. It's just a movie. It's not really that bad.

you mean in the new tcm that was just released in the us in the past month?

the first one is not very gory, it is more of a horror film than a slasher.
the sequels however are very gory. the sequels really suck.

The film was aired in swedish television in 1980, and some kids watched it and got scared. they said in some interview that they were scared and thought that '' leatherface would come and saw them''.
25 years later there was a documentary on the film, and the kids from the interview confessed that they had been told what to say.

I think texas chainsaw massacre is a cult horror film and you can have a good laugh by watching it. The only scary thing is if you're in some lonely village like in the movie, and if youve just watched the movie you might be paranoid of people and if you see weird people you might think they're as crazy as the family in the movie. It wasnt specially well done or everything but if you like horror films its a good film to watch as far as old horror movies go.

I've seen the remake while I've been in Texas. YAY! It's nasty and crazy so I'm not surprised that it was banned in the pussycat countries. I don't like bloody horrors where they cut you to pieces.

Original was good, all sequals/remakes that i've seen* are very poor.

Haven't seen the lastest one released in the past week, although it looks shit.

I don't agree.

The original was really, really great, but the sequel Texas Chainsaw 2 was very cool too (Bill Moseley and Jim Siedow were amazing in that picture). And I even liked Texas Chainsaw 3 (with a great performance by Tom Everett)

The fourth Texas Chainsaw film (The Next Generation aka The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre) by Kim Henkel really, really sucked!

im gonna watch #3 tomorrow. i think #2 sucked. it didnt have any of the class that the original had.

That's because it wasn't one of those sequels that simply just simply copies the first one. Texas Chainsaw 2 is more of a black comedy with allot of gore and great characters.

Pretty underrated picture, if you ask me! :D

actually it was on tv last saturday. I missed the main part though. Too bad cause I was wondering if part 1 actually had some kind of plot. I couldn't find one in part 2, so I was wondering if I missed it because I hadn't seen part 1.

Ah TV... I hardly watch it anymore because of the insane amount and length of the commercial breaks.

Oh yeah, commercials suck. But they are in good company, for most of the programs and shows on Dutch television also suck! :D

i saw nr 3 last week.
it sucked. you didnt even get to see the kills. you just heard the sounds.

I recently saw a 1970's version and it was scary as fuck:eek:

11-27-2006, 10:07 AM

yes it is scary and it is a fucking awesome movie

11-27-2006, 11:45 AM
I love it. I hate the new one though.

11-27-2006, 01:37 PM
i hate the fact that teenagers today think i am talking about the remake when im talking about the original.
