I've done some research lately & I came to the conclusion that you've been right all along! not only does cannabis have therapeutic properties, it's the one drug that has no bad side effects at all & that doesn't affect your health! I want you to tell your buddies I will from now on promote the use of cannabis, also among my future patients, & that I will make sure every single one of the Offspring boardmembers becomes a cannabis fan & user. legalisation is around the corner! as long as we stick to our point & spread the word as much as possible, everyone will believe us. I am no longer a slave of politics & for you I will fight the political point of view on cannabis on this board, until every brainwashed soul knows the truth.

I wanted to tell you this to let you know your presence on this board is no longer needed. I'm sorry you had to endure such a difficult time here, but I can assure you it's over now. now that you know you can leave this board in peace, I want to say thank you for all the wonderful insights you've brought to the board, it was a blast to have known you. peace out.

But Bella, I don't have any of the diseases/syndromes/etc where marijuana is used as a treatment. I'd like to start smoking it but I need to know how it would benefit ME.

I don't understand what you guys are laughing at. Mark is the ultimate American Dream; he began with nothing & at the age of 36 he worked himself up, all by himself, to become a bathroom valet at a bar.

Mark, do you have to clean the toilets too? because that's what toilet service implies, right? I always thought it was a women's job, untill I went to a bar with friends & the bathroom valet walked upto me when I went to the toilet, talked to me & offered me a beer. he was a sweet guy. he walked to the bar before I could give an answer to his offer, asked the bartender for a beer for the beautiful girl & proudly stood there with that glass, turned around & at that same moment my boyfriend had walked upto me, stood behind me & asked what was going on. I felt guilty, because he looked disappointed. quite a special place to hit on someone. a bar's toilet. but I was touched, it was quite cute. maybe you should try it some time.

I always leave money for the bathroom servants, because I keep hoping one day the toilets there are going to be cleaner. when they're clean already, I give money to keep it that way. when they're dirty as hell & I've got no hope left, I give nothing at all, because someone hasn't been doing his/her job.

Mark, I also wanted to say something else. & I seriously mean this & would like to get a full reply, without your history being dragged into it;
your spelling is pretty good, aside from your accent you choose to insert. (the verbs minus g-thing) you seem to be a rather sensitive guy, as you present yourself. (the way you say you're with girls) you seem to be the kind of person, who, when having a genuine interest, likes to learn more about that subject. seeing how much you've looked up on the subject of marijuana, good sources or not, shows you've fed your interest with information about the subject.

it's plausible that you do exactly what you feel like. but at your age, don't you want more for yourself? everyone would like to do exactly what he/she feels like at that moment, but if it doesn't get you where you want to be, how you want to be, what you want to become in the future, you adjust yourself in a way you can't only do what you feel like (more or less), but also can become who & what you want to be. you develop yourself to become yourself. do you understand what I'm saying? you can't always do whatever you want to do, if you have a certain goal for yourself. if I'd always do whatever I wanted to do, I'd spend my time lazy, doing nothing, I would stop going to school, I would just hang around, drinking, socialising, whatever. doing fun stuf that doesn't include studying, learning & work.

you blame a lot on your history & your situation (we all know all about it, so no need to tell the story again), but don't you see what & who you are isn't just your history & situation, but that it also includes your future? life isn't just a matter of past & present. your future is one day going to be your past & it's something you can still influence. so your past isn't what makes you (though it is partly), it's also what you make of the future. your future dreams, wishes, hopes, anything you want for yourself.

I don't care about you (don't be pissed off about it, I said it just for the record. I don't know you personally, so it's only natural), but I have a feeling you don't care about you either. & it's a shame, because not only does it keep people from caring about you (because why would you care about a person, who doesn't even care about himself) & finding out the positive sides of you (when you care about someone, you stick time into knowing them better), you present a certain image of yourself because of it. & any image you have of yourself, reflects in what others think of you.

I don't know how you feel about yourself at this point & this might be psychological bullshit based on nothing/way too little, that isn't even appliable, because I'm wrong. but you did seem angry that I talked to you & about you without caring about you. why would that even matter to you, if you'd care about yourself?

as I said, the way you feel about yourself reflects in what others think about you. & this also has a lot to do with presentation. (disclaimer; this is only what we've seen of you) your look doesn't encourage people to take you seriously. your hair is messy as hell, your clothes are the clothes of rebelious teens, just for example. if you care about yourself, you take care of yourself. being shallow & purely caring about looks has nothing to do with it - it has to do with not presenting yourself like a total bum, if you're simply not a total bum. it's presenting yourself at your best, so others know who you are. you don't have to put a lot of effort in it, but I assume you don't want people to think of you as someone/something you're not. again, you treat yourself the way you want others to treat you & that includes taking a bit of care of your looks.

more on the subject of presentation: on this message board, you post so many smileys to replace things & words you could also just type out & say. the smileys don't enforce, or underline what you're saying, they look impersonal, silly & childish. like you have a problem expressing yourself in a normal fashion. your own words would do the trick a lot better. words you choose to use say what you want to say always better than an impersonal smiley anyone could use. only use a smiley, when they don't replace a simple word, but when they express an emotion you couldn't say any better in any way. & even then, you should still try to express yourself with words the best you can. you seem to underestimate the power of your own words.

also, you choose to use an accent in your spelling & typing. (this is about the minus g-thing again) you know the correct way to spell, but you choose not to. you're more than an accent. Virginia is where you're from & that makes it a part of you, but don't you want to show you yourself, aside from that tiny part of you defined by you being from Virginia? Virginia isn't who you are, it's where you're from. you don't need to spell with an accent to carry out your location.

there's more; you often use caps & exclamation marks. again, don't underestimate the power of your own words. it's incredibly unnecessary & it looks more like you try to convince us/others of something you don't really believe, than like you really mean it.

let's just say we've talked so much in the other threads & I've heard so much from & about you, that maybe I do care about you a tiny little bit. I study medicine, because I care about people's wellbeing, so why wouldn't I care - even if only just a little bit - about yours. I kinda care about the fact that I see a person, who is 36, a dishwasher at a pizzaplace & a "bathroom valet" (it's only a fancy name for a pretty lousy job, sweetheart) at a bar, a virgin (not that I have anything against virginity, but when you're 36 & you're a virgin, it stands for something. it stands for lack of love overal) & pretty much homeless. you talk about your new job with pride, but it takes no skills, it still won't buy you a place to live & even if it payed a million bucks, it's nothing impressive. because anyone could do that job. that's pretty much why.

everyone has subjects they like, things they're interested in, qualities that no one else in their direct surrounding has. even though large groups of people all do the same, we're all different & have different qualities, that make every one of us better at some aspects than the other & that give everything you do a personal imput & quality. it's something to use in your advantage. we know you like weed & that you're interested in weed, but there's no way that's all you like to know more about, or do more with. there's no way that's the only thing you care for. for your own good, do something with your life.

you've said you want to become a gardener. why? do you have such an affection for gardens? do you love gardening, looking at the results of your own work once you've worked on a garden? does gardening satisfy you mentally? is gardening something you're particularly good at? what's your motivation? what motivates & drives you?

this way, settling with a job as a bathroom valet, no matter what your history is, you'll never improve your situation. I don't understand why you settle with so little. what you do will probably get you through life & you'll survive & all, but just surviving isn't exactly something you strive for. it's the least to strive for. it's good to appreciate the little things in life, but there's nothing wrong with wanting more for yourself.

sorry this post is so long, but seeing I'm talking to you in a serious, sincere, respectful, friendly fashion, I hope you pay attention to everything I said anyway.

I hope that wasn't sarcasm. The man who got me the job was on the streets too! Not only is he a bathroom valet,he's also a supervisor at a Wal-Mart store.
I was joking & it was sarcasm, but only partially. just keep working your way up, who knows where you might end.

Nope, don't have to clean toilets, just keep the sinks clean and dry.
thank god.

Better you than llama girl!
I'm not inconsiderate. I imagine being a bathroom valet isn't something you choose to do. it's not as if you'd ever hear a kid say; "when I grow up, I want to be a bathroom valet!" so I always imagine people doing that job didn't have many options. that's one reason, the other is that I believe whatever job you do, in some way you contribute to society by working, & I respect that & believe that if someone gives you a certain service, you need to repay that in whatever way.

I try to learn the best way I can, sorry I don't always come off that way.
that's exactly what I mean. you do try to learn. that's a positive thing about you & that's why I don't understand that you seem to settle with a job as a bathroom valet. because when people try to learn, they have potential in my opinion.

when you're convinced of something, though, you seem to assume pretty blindly everything that confirms what you believe in. that's pretty natural, but when trying to learn, try to stay more critical & open for other ideas, okay? in the end then you'll learn more.

Of course I do! That's why I took this job. It's better than the lousy $50 a week I'm makin' at Gustos!
do you still work there & have two jobs now, or did you leave the pizzaplace for this job?

You make a valid point, and there ain't a day that goes by,without me thinkin' about it. This job is just one step closer.
good, I'm glad we understand each other. as long as you know you have quite a lot of control over your future, present & (future) past.

It's been a rollercoaster ride, but the worst feelin' I get when I fail at somethin',is I get mad at myself, but I don't wanna just go out and kill myself.
I think everyone can relate to that. no one likes to fail & it's natural people get mad at themselves when they do. just use that anger to be productive & make sure you won't fail at something twice. don't feel bad about it too long, because you're only human. just try to see why you failed & improve whatever needs improvement, so it won't happen again.

you'll see that you'll feel better about yourself every time you succeed at something you want succeed at. for instance, succeeding at making clothes wouldn't make me feel better, because I don't feel the wish to make clothes. succeeding at organising, medicine, my relationship, things that matter to me & that I want to be a success, do make feel good about myself.

I ain't the kinda person people make me out to be. You could save their life one day,and they'll still not change their minds.
I don't really, fully understand what you're saying here. if you aren't the kind of person people think you are, then show them what kind of person you really are. you're not a bathroom valet, you're not a dishwasher, you're not a Virginian (if that's the correct word), you're not a virgin, you're not a pothead, in the first place you're Mark. so instead of just showing people you work as a bathroom valet, a dishwasher, that you come from Virginia, that you smoke pot & that you've never had sex before, show people who you are. things I just mentioned can't sum up a person's personality, but you hold on to them like they are you. do you understand what I'm saying?

You've only seen my picture, not anything else. I should have better luck with that now.
you can only show people who you really are, if your presentation matches with it. in looks, language, subjects you choose to discuss, everything. if your presentation matches with who you are right now, I won't say anything further, but I have a feeling you aren't the scruffy, unmotivated, weed-smoking bum a lot of people view you as. when so many people view you as something you're not, then something's wrong with your presentation. & this also has to do with the way you've posted here, with all the smileys, caps, exclamation mark....

No,I choose to.
once again, you're Mark, you're not your location. Virginia is where you live & not who you are. I understand it's a choice, but you choose to make Virginia part of your (online) character & it isn't part of your character. I'd rather see you typing in normal English, than in an accent, because you aren't your accent. I'm from the Netherlands. imagine I'd type phonetically with an accent, then no one here would even understand me.

on the subject of choices; you choose what you want to & what you want you choose. but base decisions not only on what you want, but what's good for you, also in the long run.

Sorry to come off that way.
you don't now & that's awesome. you just need to try & learn to stay calm, rational & objective in a discussion, without attacking people for having different thoughts. keep an open mind. there's no need to get riled up on an internet message board, your anger/frustration/whatever will only get in your own way. you're the only one to feel your own anger/frustration/whatever & that isn't good/beneficial for you. if you irrationally & subjectively are going to have a discussion, screaming in caps & exclamation marks in the heat of the battle, people aren't going to take you seriously. but I guess you know that now.

It ain't the pride in the job,it's the fact that it's long overdue that I be workin' again, that's what I'm happy about, now job huntin' will be alot easier.
*nods* I understand. I don't know how you come across in real life, but you just said people make you out to be something you're not. so to prevent misunderstandings, miscommunication & wrong impressions, work on your presentation. just work on yourself.

Weed is just a bonus,it's HEMP I'm really interested in,one of the things I want to get into is real estate, which hemp covers beautifully!
hahaha, this gives me images of beautiful grapevines on the hills of France. except with hemp.

in your country weed isn't legalised, in my country it's only legalised in very limited amounts. you can't just assume that in time weed will be legalised. what if it never will be? then your dreams of land full of hemp will be crushed. it's a dream that in the current situation can't be realised. you should strive for things you can realise, also in the current situation. be realistic. weed isn't going to help you improve your life, it only helps you to release stress & to run away in a dreamworld, that isn't real. being high isn't a rational state to be in. well, you know all about that. without any cause, you feel great about yourself after smoking weed. that's awesome, I know & I agree, but don't you want to feel great for once with an actual cause? something you can feel great about? hemp isn't a goal. if weed helps you to get through life, it can possibly be what helps you to reach your goals. it's not a goal in itself.

You just answered yourself here, this job gives me a better chance than Gusto's.
it's great that you want more for yourself. go for it. give it everything you've got & go get it.

I feel the only thing holdin' back hemp is will. If you lact it,you fail,if you have it,and there's enough that do,we'll win sooner or later,it's gonna take a war to do it,the Hemp For Victory program,it works,as it did in the 1600s American Revolution,War of 1812,Civil War,and both world wars! It just wasn't dubbed the name (HFV) until 1942,but it's been around much longer, works, and could work again, that's the whole point,FIRE UP THE PROGRAM!

*sighs* I do not know you personally, Mark. I do wish you get on with life as well as you can. Why would I wish to the contrary? I've insulted & put you down time & again, & you've only come up with weak retorts, & then, only when I was really, really mean, did you insult me, feebly at that.

You're a good chap at bottom, if a bit crazed on the hemp thing. Totally crazed, but who cares. You're a good guy. Find yourself a nice haido, a nice wife, a nice job, have nice children & may you have a nice time of it in the future.
That I'm workin' on. This new job opens doors for me,and as my supplies increase for the valet job,so does the money. I've also met and have a choice between two sexy brunettes. One I met just recently,Tammer if I spell her name correctly, and the other I met durin' the summer, her name's Marie Seymour, college senior at Old Dominion University, age 21 half philipino half English, born in Hampton and possibly of Kecghotan descent as well. This is Q'orianka (core-ee-anka) Kilcher from the New World who portrayed Pocahontas,Marie never saw the film, but I showed her a picture of Q'orianka and told her she reminded me of her,and she smiled, just like you see in the picture and blushed. :o I even told her if I could afford it,I'd not only take her out,but give her a tour of the state! She said AWWWWWW!:D I recently saw her with a guy named Scott, but she was hesitant to tell me she was datin' him,so I didn't press, just wished her good luck. She actually said she wasn't sure they were datin' but it didn't matter,I told her I wanted her to be happy. She works Mondays and Thursday nights at Gusto's and is the cashier,I usually look out for her,and she gives me a box of pizzas. The only difference between her and Q'orianka is that Marie's hair is shorter by 6 inches, and Q'orianka is only 16,other than that, their looks are 80-90% identical. Tammer works next door at Time Lounge and is new there. I only spoke to her once, but she was real nice too. You sound like a mate of mine who has had little experience with girls and is terrible at interpreting they're body language etc.
What do you mean you 'have a choice' ? You mean you like both of them and have a choice which one to try and get to know and get close with?

Or are you being arrogant and assuming they both like you and you've got the choice of which one to be with?

I hope its the first part, otherwise its likely to get thrown back in your face from whats happened to my mate.

For a loss or two? If so,then it was a long shot anyway. Tammer doesn't know my situation yet, only spoke to her once, but Marie knows.:o I'll have to try and find out what the Dickhead cook Benny has been tellin' her. He gets jealous when he sees us communicatin' and tries to break us up,but Marie has been very nice and sympathetic and often tells him to back off. Usually I wait for him to leave before I really start talkin',meanwhile we tend to just look on at each other. If I lose this chance,I'll know who to blame! The fact I was already able to tell her I'd be willin' to take her out if I could afford it was one of the things that kept us talkin'! She has a hummingbird tatoo on her arm,and a tat on her lower back,I think it was a pair of wings, she took off her Gusto's T-shirt behind me and let her hair down, then she looked back at me and smiled,'cause I saw her changin'! Maria, <3. you is sweet.

mocking someone who's in the most vulnerable position, the most easy position to mock, isn't only unsatisfactory, it gets on your own conscience after a while. especially when we're talking about someone as opened up & with clearly good intentions, as Mark Bryan.

Don't let's ruin illusions, shall we boys? Let him enjoy his Pocahontas fantasy for a while, till someone else blows it, hmm?

girls are generally extremely good at that, so if this turns out to be a disappointment, we don't need to rub salt in any wounds in advance. (I guess that's only a Dutch expression, but it works in English, I suppose)

I think she means "Awww" as in "Aww, little boy in a mans body, bless his cotton socks".

hahaha!<3 that made me "aww" as well.

Perhaps she just does not see the man in you... since she feels so comfortable.

Maria has a typical way of saying things, but Mark, you don't have to be paranoid this time about sarcasm. I think she meant that maybe she doesn't see you as a potential 'project' to date. (me & my friends always call potential dating objects "projects") it belongs to the possibilities, of course. when I trust someone, see them as my friend, or more like a little brother (that came out ugly), & I feel comfortable around them, I'm not too worried about taking off my shirt, either. after all people don't get to see much more than if they'd go to the beach & watch girls in their bikinis. except it's not a bikini, but a bra. functionally I have to take my shirt off for my study every time we have to practice physical examinations on each other. so it's not necessarily a sign she's into you, I guess that's all she meant. it IS a sign she's comfortable around you & that's a great thing in itself & muchos important, if there's ever going to grow something between the two of you.

having told you about me & my friends' meaning of "project", I see you've got two projects running. one taken girl, one you've only spoke to once. that doesn't sound too much like any of the two got a lot of potential, but you speak like Marie has drawn special interest & said she isn't too serious about her current relationship. if that's so, give it everything you've got to make the best impression. if she's who you've fallen for, concentrate on her. & yes, do something about your hair, facial hair also. make sure you don't only sound, but also look like you have something to offer her. let your looks reflect all the things you can offer her. take care of your looks, like you'd take care of her.

don't tell her you're a virgin, unless you've of course already told her. that's personal information she doesn't need to know, as long as she's not within reasonable reach. when you two are closer & she explicitely lets you know she has special interest in you too, from that moment on you can mention it, if the moment allows it.

saying you want her to be happy is the perfect remark. if she's happy with the guy she's currently dating, your sweet remark will work in your advance, because it will win you her trust & as soon as she starts to become unhappy in her relationship, she'll know you care enough for her to wish her happiness, which implies you would like to provide that happiness. if she's unhappy with her current relationship, she knows you'd give it all to make her happy. so saying you want her to be happy works in your advance either way.

it might be not enough, though. keep subtly flirting, without creeping her out, of course. keep letting her know you don't & won't lose interest in her easily & that you'd like to get a shot with her. draw herself a bit to you; cook her dinner for instance. that doesn't have to cost much. or take her for a walk. take her to a place with a nice view with a bottle of cheap wine. have conversations with her about everything & nothing in particular. become her best friend & more. if she's not the type of girl to pick up on hints (I know I'm not), sit down with her for a while, maybe after work, or during a dinner you've made her & maybe talk with her about your feelings for her.

I don't know if she's the type of girl that likes gentleman behaviour, like holding the door open for her, let her go first, moving her seat for her so she can sit down & then moving it to the table.. roses at her door, or at work (if that's too expensive, a single rose also does the trick, sometimes even better).. cooking her dinner, or taking her for a walk some place nice... if you're musically talented, you could try something with that. just use what you have going for yourself. some women are ticked off when a man plays the gentleman to win a girl for him. personally I appreciate little things like that. not constantly, but once in a while, even if just jokingly. constantly gets annoying. don't write her poems, though. poems are always very personal, not everybody likes them & are more likely to have the wrong effect & creep her out.

And just when you thought the MB420 drama was over...

Though, it's not as crazy as it was a couple of weeks ago.

no, it's not as crazy. I kinda feel he deserves a break from the marijuana craze. & no drama this time. just two overly romantic girls, who were moved by his story in the middle of insanity, who wish he'd have more luck in love & are willing to advice him on the complicated subject of women.

I need to get one. it belongs to the possibilities, of course. when I trust someone, see them as my friend, or more like a little brother (that came out ugly), & I feel comfortable around them, I'm not too worried about taking off my shirt, either. after all people don't get to see much more than if they'd go to the beach & watch girls in their bikinis. except it's not a bikini, but a bra. functionally I have to take my shirt off for my study every time we have to practice physical examinations on each other. so it's not necessarily a sign she's into you, I guess that's all she meant. it IS a sign she's comfortable around you & that's a great thing in itself & muchos important, if there's ever going to grow something between the two of you. That's what I'm goin' on.

if she's who you've fallen for, concentrate on her. & yes, do something about your hair, facial hair also. make sure you don't only sound, but also look like you have something to offer her. let your looks reflect all the things you can offer her. take care of your looks, like you'd take care of her. I'm already on that.

don't tell her you're a virgin, unless you've of course already told her. that's personal information she doesn't need to know, as long as she's not within reasonable reach. when you two are closer & she explicitely lets you know she has special interest in you too, from that moment on you can mention it, if the moment allows it. Point well taken.

saying you want her to be happy is the perfect remark. if she's happy with the guy she's currently dating, your sweet remark will work in your advance, because it will win you her trust & as soon as she starts to become unhappy in her relationship, she'll know you care enough for her to wish her happiness, which implies you would like to provide that happiness. if she's unhappy with her current relationship, she knows you'd give it all to make her happy. so saying you want her to be happy works in your advance either way. That's what I told her,and by addin' I'd take her out of I could afford it put a smile on her face!

it might be not enough, though. keep subtly flirting, without creeping her out, of course. keep letting her know you don't & won't lose interest in her easily & that you'd like to get a shot with her. draw herself a bit to you; cook her dinner for instance. that doesn't have to cost much. or take her for a walk. take her to a place with a nice view with a bottle of cheap wine. have conversations with her about everything & nothing in particular. become her best friend & more. if she's not the type of girl to pick up on hints (I know I'm not), sit down with her for a while, maybe after work, or during a dinner you've made her & maybe talk with her about your feelings for her. This is exactly what I have in mind.

I hear ya.

no, it's not as crazy. I kinda feel he deserves a break from the marijuana craze. & no drama this time. just two overly romantic girls, who were moved by his story in the middle of insanity, who wish he'd have more luck in love & are willing to advice him on the complicated subject of women. I agree.

This creeps me out so bad. This creeps me out so bad I want to cry. man oh man oh man oh man... *rocks back and forth twidling fingers* typical.
