Ok. This is sort of a mix of 2 ongoing threads...so I made my own. If Ricky & Per dont like that...well...I guess make this part of another thread? Anyways...

I am going to post a long list of bands. These are either bands I'm already into but do not have enough music by, or bands that I would like to start listening to but do not know where to begin. If people could put up mp3s, that would be swell. Or full cds. Or even some song titles. I am willing to trade and most of the stuff I have can be found here (http://www.offspring.com/forums/showpost.php?p=914408&postcount=13). So. thanks.

Here are the bands, in no particular order. And please, I don't want comments like "lolz, they suk".

Rock Kills Kid
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
The Hush Sound
Jack's Mannequin
Tokyo Rose
Cartel
Senses Fail
Hard-Fi
Sugarcult
Over It
Monty Are I
The Classic Crime
Cute Is What We Aim For
Boys Like Girls
She Wants Revenge
LCD Soundsystem
The Sounds
Matt Pond PA
All Time Low
Boys Night Out
We Are Scientists
Sharks Keep Moving
The Shins
Rachael Yamagata
Zero 7
Sufjan Stevens
Ted Leo + the Pharmacists
Amber Pacific
October Fall
Mae
Les Savy Fav
Q and Not U
Circa Survive
Saosin
Shout Out Louds
The Rakes
The Appleseed Cast
Le Tigre
The Spill Canvas
The Postal Service

...i told you it was a lot.

also, if you can think of anything else i might like....that'd be swell. yup.

Monty Are I, I've seen live twice. They're good live, and I dunno if you have anything by them, but good luck finding some stuff. I couldn't when I looked on soulseek and in the store.

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, get Shake the Sheets; it's fantastic. I hear that "Tyranny of Distance" is good, too.

EDIT: I can put up a few of my favorites from Shake the Sheets tomorrow or in a few days, but not tonight.

Anybody that doesn't know of Our Lady Peace should check them out, so I'd recommend them. I have one Circa Survive album, one Senses Fail album and one of their EPs, and all of Boys Night Out's stuff, If you want any of those.

Sufjan Stevens
Ted Leo + the Pharmacists

You've heard both of them in my car at some point. I have 4 of Sufjan Stevens' albums but I only have Shake the Sheets by Ted Leo (I agree with Mike that it's quite awesome). I'll upload some stuff by both probably tomorrow, I have to rip them from the cds first.

Have you actually heard stuff by Sharks Keep Moving or are you interested in them because of Minus the Bear? I had a handful of songs by them before and didn't like them all. Very slow and boring. If you're looking for other Minus the Bear-esque bands, you might want to check out Pedro the Lion or Braid. MTB's earier stuff sounds kind of like a happier, dancier mix of those two bands.

Yeah, hearing them in your car is what really got me into them. I have some things on the cds you've burned for me, but I unfortunately can't *get* to those cds right now (or 90% of my cds for that matter, but thats a whole different story). I figured you'd be of help with those ;p.

I've heard iTunes clips from Sharks Keep Moving, and I liked what I heard. The only full MP3 I have from them is *jet's jets*, which I like. I used to have some Pedro the Lion stuff, but it is long gone with my old dead computer. I remember liking them. Never heard Braid...but...you tend to pick good things for me, so ;p.

Sugarcult isn't a bad band. I will post most of their mp3's I have sometime Sunday or Monday. If I can, I might do some Hard-Fi too.

I have one Circa Survive album.
I would like these too, please.

I'd suggest that if you haven't maximized your Sugarcult repertoire with both Start Static and Palm Trees and Power Lines, that you do so right away. Both are fucking kickass, straight, non-pretentious pop-punk albums full of great songs.

Umm, you wanna get Jack's Mannequin... I'd just like to make sure first that you have Something Corporate, right? If not, they are more important to check out before you check out Jack's Mannequin. I'm very serious.

Yeah, I had never liked them much either. I might give them another try, though.

I had never heard Jet's Jets before. I got it now and it's probably the best song I've heard by them. I'm not sure I'd want to get anything more by them though.

Braid were a lot more punk-ish than MTB and probably sound closer to the Promise Ring or Cap'n Jazz but they were definitely a huge influence on them (as well as lots of other punkish indie/emo bands). I used to have a bunch of songs by them on my computer but they went away a long time ago so I just downloaded some more. A couple of the ones I had before were slightly more MTB-ish but I can't remember what they were called.

Killing a Camera (http://download.yousendit.com/84E4F9E359D92696)

I'll put up some Ted Leo and Sufjan Stevens stuff a bit later.

My computer is too shitty for uploads, but as far as Sufjan and Matt Pond PA go:

Illionois by Sufjan is the album that got me into him, and is still my favorite. "John Wayne Gacy, Jr." and "Decatur" are probably my 2 favorite songs from it.

"The Green Fury" is the only Matt Pond PA song that I have, but I like it a lot. "Measure 3" is probably the best song from it.

Anyone else that hasn't heard Sufjan Stevens should check him out. He's got a neat folky/jazzy thing going on. He makes some of the most beautiful music I've heard. Seriously. And I'm still impressed by the fact that everything aside from the strings, trumpet, and the occasional drum part is done by him. He plays guitar, bass, drums, piano, banjo, flute, sax, oboe, accordian, glockenspiel, wood flute and lots of others.
