let's get this straight first of all: ROYALE: not royal

Ok lets start by saying: MOST KICK ASS BOND SINCE GOLDFINGER! (which was 1964 for those of you who don't know). I'm not sure whether this has been out in America for ages or if its ages before it comes out, but it was great just trust me: Why?

-New Bond: Best since Connary
-Chases: Just rock, cinimatic history in the making
-Not over-done: Unlike the last 10 odd Bond Films
-A plot hole that was relly fun to think about
-Bond's first kill: ooooooo
-And really the rest is equally as good

watch it, just watch it

It's Casino Royale, with an 'e' at the end.
I'm looking forward seeing it, although I don't think I'll like Daniel Craig that much. But you never know, he might turn out great, but he doesn't really give me a James Bond feeling.
I haven't seen the original so I can't compare it to that. But the trailer looked awesome.

I have to create a DVD-Menu for this movie for school.

I liked Pierce Brosnan as Bond. Even though Goldeneye was the only good film.

However I'm looking forward to this one. It has Mads Mikkelson. How cool is that?

omg i even knew it had an e but didn't put it, well i'm off to remsville

edit: He's not really James Bond as you know him, he's alot different to the more recent of them but the film was supposed to bare more resemblence to the early Bond character player by Moore and Lazemby, its hard to explain, i suppose he's Connery with the agression and bluntness of Dalton only not....if you get me :p

it was ok. not really that great. of course, i'm not a big fan of action flicks so that could be part of it.

I haven't seen it yet (don't think it's released here for a week or so), but hey, it's directed by Martin Campbell, who did Goldeneye.

And it has Daniel Craig, who can act.

And it has the first decent Bond theme song (by Cornell!) in years, since the Garbage one.

I'm no huge Bond fan, the only one I liked more than just "hey, that was a pretty cool movie" was Goldeneye. Goldeneye was a fucking amazing action movie. And being made by the same guy, with a grittier edge, some most-definitely hot less-A-list-star Bond Girls, and an origin story based off what people tell me is still the best Bond novel?

I'm sure this movie will kick all different kinds of ass. The trailer looked pretty rad.

Apparently this is more what Bond was meant to be. Not a suave and sophisticated Pierce Brosnan type, but a short blonde guy who's a complete asshole to most people around him, and fights more as a pissed-off brutal brawler than a choreographed type.

(I still don't understand the "UK government organising to play poker against terrorists" thing though, I've never read the book. That just seems ludicrous. Completely ridiculous. No government would ever do that. But I guess I'll wait to see the movie, put it in context before mocking it.)

And as noted in the "last movie you watched", I loved Casino Royale.

c/p from there, too lazy to type :p

Yes, the Bond dialogue is cheesy. Yes, so are many other things, it is a Bond movie after all. And while they were *this* close to comitting Matrix-like movie-suicide, they saved it, because, well, it is Bond and yeah I guess it can be cheesy a little. I still think "more explosions, less Bond emotions" is a better way to go, but hey. However, things that win:

-stunts, especially in the first scenes. WEEEOOOOYAYYYY JUMPIE!
-The views are goddamn awesome
-The story is even not bad
-The bad guy is so... hilarious.
-I have always loved M, and I always will.
-Bond was nekkie!
-And how.
-And dude, this guy is actually good and not faggy, occasionally even funny, despite being blonde. I am pleasantly surprised.

On the downside, where was Q? :(

Also, I wonder how much the Montenegrians paid them for the shameless promotion.

8/10, I'd say, which is waaaaay good for a Bond.

Connery.

I haven't seen it yet, but I guarantee you that plot holes are never a good thing. Possibly you simply meant plot point, or twist.

I'm quite looking forward to seeing it, though I'm far from certain yet whether I approve of the casting. We'll see.

Goldeneye is my favourite Bond movie, and Brosnan is probably my favourite Bond. Yes, even more than Connery, but only slightly and because Brosnan's incarnation is so much newer.

plot holes are never a good thing.

Wrong. They make teen slasher flicks all the better.

On Topic: I'm seeing it this week at some point; I'm excited. It looks great!

Bond is blonde. The older movies got it wrong.

Before Craig, Sean Connery was the closest they've come to "looking like Bond". And even he was too pretty-boyish.

I've never even read a Bond novel (hell, I haven't even seen all of the movies, only about half from a mix of different eras), but all of the hardcore Bond fans discussing this movie pretty much say he looks exactly as he's described in the original Casino Royale book, the first time the Bond character was used.

And most of the books apparently use that same description. Short, blonde, average-looking, yet a cocky smooth asshole who gets the ladies.

Not Moore or Brosnan.

uh.. false. bond is not blonde. read more here. you can see a sketch of what ian fleming wanted bond to look like. you obviously dont know what you are talking about, as you stated yourself, so you really shouldnt make comments on things like that.

Pirates was pretty kickass, except for the cheapening-out on the visual effects of the squid.

And the fact that the entire final battle didn't make any sense, as right at the start of the movie the squid simply split a ship in half with one tentacle and it went down. In like 10 seconds.

It was based on the first book by Ian Fleming. Moneypenny and Q were not in the book.

I really can't get very excited about action movies, pretty much ever, but I was mildly entertained for two and a half hours.

Good point, but supposedly The Black Perl was a much stronger ship, but still a good point.
