We all like The Offspring in one way or another, and I have three questions about this for you guys:
1. What do you like most in Offspring songs?: vocals, lyrics, guitar (solos), bass (intro), drums or everything put together?
2. What do you find most important in Offspring songs? (this doesn't necessarily have to be the same answer as in question one): vocals, lyrics, guitar, bass, drums or everything put together?
3. They already are really great, but what (do you think) could they still do or change to better theirselves? for instance: "the lyrics could be more political" or "there should be some more variation in the drums".

1. I like it all, the combination of the riffs with the fast drums and Dexter's vocals (especially the Woahhs).

2. The most important aspect is the signature Offspring guitar sound.

3. I would not like the lyrics to be more political. I read somewhere where Dexter said something about they weren't trying to spread a particular political mentality like other bands, and they just wanted to promote people being independent and doing what they want. Even when great bands write political songs, it often irritates me because there's too much angst and complaining in it. I'm all for "Fuck the system" but when people write songs about the Iraq War I think they're trying to be politicians, which they shouldn't. All that said, I'm quite happy with the Offspring, I'd just like to see albums in the structure of the middle ones with more songs that are of more substance.

So you're saying you're more comfortable with hearing aimless "fuck the government" lyrics than something that might reflect an intelligent opinion about something?

Agree with eveything, except race against myself

3-. Dexter should let the drummer express himself... AND DON'T WRITE everything
