Blind Guardian, one of the most epic bands out there. Yes, I love that word "epic", but it applies to no one more than these guys.

German band, I guess you'd classify them metal. But there are strong folk music and medieval influences there, too. Almost like something you'd hear as a score in a Monty Python movie.

Very melodic, and like most European power-metal has a pretty clean guitar tone (which I like), with actual singing instead of yelling/shouting/growling/Cookie Monster impersonations.

They're pretty much medieval-geeks, it's very funny, they're all obsessed with Lord of the Rings and shit. I think they even wrote a concept album about it, Hobbits and all.

("The Bard Song" very cool ballad. Hansi's voice is great in this.)

(Their most recent single, still a little old, but pretty catchy)

(This one's kind of bad quality audio, but a good representation of their older heavier sound)

I see you're on my internets. Stealing my topics. (http://www.offspring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20696)

True. However, Hansi (especially on the older albums) still has a dirtier voice than most euro power bands, and a more unique voice. Which, of course, is a good thing.

True. Nightfall in Middle-Earth. Not about LOTR, but about Silmarillion.

You should check out Demons & Wizards, btw, if you haven't already. Jon Schaffer + Hansi Kürsch. I have one of their two albums. It's good, but I prefer their "real" bands. I still recommend it though, for anyone who likes IE and/or BG.

PS. They and their songs are awesome live. Bard's Song was cool, but Valhalla.... *drools*

Ok, after finally getting into this band on a more hardcore basis than just watching random YouTube clips (heh :p ), I've decided they may be the greatest modern metal band on the planet.

That is all.

"And Then There Was Silence" is like...Maiden on crack with enhanced everything and just betterbetterbetter.

Once there was Maiden. The last 20 years there has been Blind Guardian, only reaching their potential with their last three albums.

Check 'em out, niggaaaahs.

Are you so full of yourself that you had to bump your own thread because nobody really gives a shit?

Pretty much, yeah Ricky. *nods*

I don't have any uploads or anything Yatesy, but Youtube has some good stuff:

That's a great song there. "Mirror Mirror".

And this too ("The Bard's Song", probably their most well-known track):

And here's a hilarious cover they did of "Mr. Sandman".

Their albums are great, but these are just all I could find on Youtube that are worth seeing.
