I love that show. Haven't seen it in quite a while. Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles are always hilarious together.

How long has that damn show been on anyway? I feel like I was watching it 20 years ago almost.

I liked it when I was a kid. That's all.

It's a decent show. It's really funny a lot of times, but as far as improv comedy goes, it's not done quite right. The way they do it is pretty cheap. For one, the suggestions are way too specific and totally set the scene up for the actors, so they don't have to develop anything on their own. A lot of humor can come from establishing a scene and establishing who you are and what your relation is to everyone else in the scene.

True, but I don't think the show is there to accent how wonderful they all are at improvisation, it's just supposed to make you laugh :)

As someone who does improv, it's annoying to see a group of guys making a lot of money doing something they don't really do that well, you know? Sure, it's funny to the average person, but it could all be so much more developed. I'm not really complaining so much, seeing as it's made for TV and people like it. I suppose I'm being a little snobby.

I agree 100% with sKratch. I think it's a good show, but not always my cup of tea. As with all improv, it's hit or miss, but everything sKratch is saying is true.

The way improv is generally done in short form (short form is the style you see on Whose Line) is you get either a word of inspiration or a non-geographical location to start a scene. None of this "You're in an expensive restaurant and your daughter with down syndrome ordered a soup she is allergic to" kind of crap they give you on the show. And even then, say your word is "restaurant". The scene shouldn't be about restaurants, you do something called "A to C", where you say, "Hmmm, restaurants make me think about food, food makes me think about silverware." Then you start a scene about silverware. It's a good rule of thumb.

I love the show to death, but I alway had a feeling some of the stuff was rehearsed. For example, I remember watching this exact same skit from the British version on the American version of the show.

I'm pretty sure the skit done on the American version is also on youtube, but I'm not in the mood to look for it.

I don't know about rehearsing, but they definitely used essentially the same jokes over and over and over.

I like it sometimes, but it annoys me that Wayne is so obviously the crowd's favorite, yet he's not funny at all.
