Is there anyone here who likes (or has heard of) Alkaline Trio?!? I love them...I'm actually addicted to them!

Everyone here has at least heard of Alkaline Trio.

and many people like them. Llamas is one of them if I'm not mistaken.

A great band, they also have a great live show.

Alkaline Trio are awesome. Crimson is probably their best album.

Alkaline Trio's awesome. Crimson not very good. There's already a thread, it's somewhat recent.

ilovellamas' passion for the band is startling.

I actually haven't listened to them in a really long time. Now and then I'll throw on an album, but the excitement has died down now that it's been so long since the release of Crimson. Sad that they got so big, because they used to release albums so much more frequently.

Anyway, for their LPs, my order goes:

Goddamnit
Good Mourning
Crimson
Maybe I'll Catch Fire
From Here to Infirmary

Though, Goddamnit and Good Mourning are almost tied... so are Crimson and Maybe. It is a damn good band, though, and I hope they'll release something else somewhat soon. Now I feel like listening to them.

hey, someone else that likes Good Mourning, too. I think that's the album with the lowest reviews. I still love it, though.

It was underrated. Songs like "Every Thug Needs a Lady", "Blue Carolina", "Fatally Yours", and their best ballad, "Blue in the Face"... how can you not love it? haha. It's good stuff. Also, I was gonna originally make fun of your sn, but you seem to be decent. So :p

That's weird, because all of the reviews I've seen have generally placed "From Here to Infirmary" into the worst Alkaline Trio album category, which I completely agree. Good Mourning is probably my favorite, especially considering that I've had "Emma" stuck in my head for months at a time on more than one occasion.

My fav songs are All on Black, Radio, and a bunch from Crimson

'Bloodied Up' from FHTI is still a phenomenal song.

from here to infirmary is the best cd they have. i heard it back in 2002 and ever since iv loved it. the new stuff isnt as good.

I've never liked that album. The first 2 songs are really good, and I really like "Armageddon", but nothing else on it stands out at all. It's not that it's bad or anything, but all the sounds sound the exact same to me.

Llamas

I agree with Jakebert about what songs are good on that one. It's so uninspired and generic, I think.

Someone at work put on an Alkaline Trio album that had two of my favorite songs covered on it--"Metro" by Berlin and "Wait for the Blackout" by the Damned. No idea what it was though.

I'd like a band to cover "Sex (I'm a Slut)" by Berlin; Alkaline Trio could give it a shot. That would be awesome in several flavors.

I don't think that's an actual album. If it was, it was the self titled album of their early demos... but more likely, it was just a compilation of songs. I love those covers (and the originals), but they're not on any of their albums.

oh, and ak3 also covered "Bye Bye Love" and "Next to You". :)

What do you mean, not an actual album? It was an official release by their label. It is an actual album.

But they don't have any official releases from their label that has those songs on it... I have all of their albums

I held it in my hands. It was an actual sanctioned release.

EDIT: We're both right. It's a Vagrant release, but it drops 1/30. I lose track of release dates.

The Hot Water Music cover was unnecessary. Skiba just doesn't have Chuck Ragan's voice and can't pull it out. He sounds whiny.

Oh... okay. It's not out yet. That's why I was confused. They currently don't have any released albums with those songs on it. So yes, we're both right. :)

I thought Alk covered the HWM songs WAY better than HWM covered the Alk songs... Good god, HWM's cover of Radio was disgusting.

I've heard of them, but not their actual music. Every time I open up an Alkaline Trio thread, I hope for someone to upload something because of all the hype I hear all over this forum, but no one ever does. *hint* I don't actually care enough to make the effort to open up soulseek for them.

They were really good when I saw them live a while back. I've only heard Good Mourning, Crimson, and From Here to Infirmary, but I like them in that order.

For anyone interested, I'm uploading their entire discography. They'll be rar files of each of their LPs (alkaline trio, crimson, from here to infirmary, goddamnit, good mourning, maybe I'll catch fire).

If anyone is interested, I also have:
Their split with Hot Water Music
Dan Adriano's solo work
Matt Skiba's solo work
Live in Illinois (4/19/02)
Matt Skiba and Kevin Seconds
Their cover songs and a few alternate versions of songs (acoustic, live) and some rarities

If anyone is interested in any of that stuff, let me know and I'll upload it as well. :)

I've been on the fence about Alkaline Trio, until I heard "Warbrain" from the Rock Against Bush comp. Man, that song is fucking awesome.

I downloaded Crimson. So far I really like "Dethbed" and "Back to Hell".

Can someone upload Good Mourning? Apparently it's an unwritten Soulseek law that every copy of that album must be of the shittiest possible quality.

What do you mean bad quality? I don't think I've ever encountered a bad quality song. I'd probably upload if it meets the expectations.

I haven't checked the songs though. they're probably mislabeled and everything.
I couldn't find queen of pain, but I've had the old one and I'm guessing it's the same. I also guessed that you already had it to begin with.

Llamas

I have all (or at least most of) the songs, but they're all before Remains came out... and that means they're all really low quality. So I've really wanted Remains so I could get the good quality versions. I should be able to identify them and relabel them. Thanks so much for doing that!

i first got into alkaline trio in early 2002 and managed to see them at warped tour 2002. unfortunatly they sucked live, but i hear they are better now.
