I have a request though, and I ask that it be strictly adhered to, because I don't want just any kind of music. I want electronic/synth/techno type of music. Along the lines of ladytron, ratatat, J+J+J and all that good stuff I discovered in the mixed tape thread. I don't mind pure techno either, like Basshunter of New Order. I just want more at my fingers. plz upload.

Also please use yousendit.com and not megaupload or rapidfileshare because those are so annoying to download from.

Thank you :)

Being the resident synthesizer obsessor on these here boards, this request means that I fucking rule.

Anyway, here are a few electrosynthy songs you might like. These are from various genres, but all are synethesizer driven in some way. Just some random ones off the top of my head:

The Faint - Glass Danse (http://download.yousendit.com/C5EFEB7B6287CADD)

Legowelt - haunted Arp (http://download.yousendit.com/89FB0BB44B5D40C4)

Fischerspooner - Cloud (http://download.yousendit.com/EFC909C72221B9DE)

The Human League - The Things That Dreams Are Made Of (http://download.yousendit.com/713A44CD3885788E)

The Blow - How Naked Are We Gonna Get? (http://download.yousendit.com/A19E42B0689A46C5)

oh btw, I love the Faint.

I knew you would. I could give you more music, but I thought it'd be cool to give you starting points and let you navigate through them however you like (looking up info and songs and other stuff independently).

But if you do want more, tell me.

I'm not really a fan of eletronic music and all that jazz, but I've gotten a bit into Royksopp lately.

Royksopp - Eple (http://www.sendspace.com/file/5vv00r)
Royksopp - Remind me (http://www.sendspace.com/file/sppej4)

I downloaded your first three Johnny. Working on the last two. I already knew that I liked these bands.

Jebus, Royksopp always struck me as the Swedish word for Smoke soup. I'll download it though.

lawlz, I'm surprised I didn't get "zomg" reactions for not posting a single Depeche Mode song in a thread dedicated to electronic music.

*eye twitches uncontrollably, wrists shaking violently* P-p-please, make me give you a Depeche Mode song *rocks back and forth*

Sud...sudden...suddenly so cold in here...

wheelchairman
01-29-2007, 04:39 PM
Go ahead, upload Depeche Mode. But I don't like about half of what they made. I really enjoyed John the Revelator, and that one single they had (Reach out, touch faith, or something like that. Starts out "your own personal jesus" if memory serves.)

Let's see. This Fischerspoone song is much better than Emerge. I do like Emerge. But this is just much better. The Blow were okay but I am really enjoying The Human League.

JohnnyNemesis
01-29-2007, 04:41 PM
lawlz, I'm jk...I don't HAVE to upload a DM song. I AM NOT AN ADDICT! I CAN STOP WHENEVER I WANT!

I am surprised you like that Human League song, because I thought I'd be alone on that one. I really love that song, but for some reason didn't expect others to appreciate it.

if you won't, maybe I will.

& of course I have some Chicks on Speed & silly stuff on my computer.

Plz gimme some Chicks on Speed. I had it on my old computer, but not on this one.

DON'T fight it! ONE OF US! ONE OF US!

(if you like cheesy poppy synth, you'll probably like more Depeche Mode than you think. Their singles, especially recently, are NOT totally indicative of their 26 year career...)

(also, ya know that 80s hit "Don't You Want Me Baby?"...that's also Human League! w00t w00t)

(and yes, Cloud is better than Emerge. I think Emerge is a better starting point for Fischerspooner, but Cloud is much better overall)

uhhh, would LCD Soundsystem count in this? They may have been on Ricky's mixtape, I can't recall. I know they were on mine, but I dunno if you downloaded mine.

Betty

I love these threads because I get to mooch off of them big time. Unfortunately all of the seriously techno/electronic/synthey music I have is all from Ricky or somebody else on this BBS so I'm sure you've heard it all. (I love it though!)

Here are a few rock-semi-synthey type songs... I think... I'd imagine they'll serve your purpose however... let me know if I'm way off track...

I've posted this first one before I'm sure, you can skip it if you have it, but it's my favourite:
Metric - Poster of a Girl (http://download.yousendit.com/C8BEE9335E69F4E6)
Metric - Dead Disco (http://download.yousendit.com/0BB1FD0D7CDAE913)

This song is pretty intense:
Immaculate Machine - No Such Thing as the Future (http://download.yousendit.com/6C30A0681C7164B6)

Umm... this song is very keyboard heavy... does that count as synthey? I'm really not an expert in the genre. Gotta plug my band though.
The Golden Dogs - Never Meant Any Harm (http://download.yousendit.com/14C071D406AB7515)

JohnnyNemesis
01-29-2007, 09:05 PM
Dead Disco by Metric is a fucking masterpiece.

And yeah, I included "Tribulations" by LCD Soundsystem on my first Dope Beatz mix, Samlove <3

Betty
01-29-2007, 09:14 PM
Both of those Metric songs make me want to drop everything I'm doing and break out in dance. Those are the danciest off of each of the CDs in my opinion.

And I think you made me fall in love with Tribulations...

Also, I'm gonna add a Royksopp song, because I was listening to one of their CDs and I totally fell for it. I didn't really feel the songs Jebus posted compare, but then it's always a matter of opinion and what catches your ear.

I only have those 8 songs on this computer, I'm afraid. I don't really have a nifty download program these days anymore, so I tried to download their albums again (used to have them) & the program I have now does find them, but they won't download, boo.:(

Not quite sure if this is the sorta thing you're looking for, but it's They Might Be Giants, back when they were still getting jiggy with synths and such.

I have a few Tatu-remix-songs for you, they sound like something you might (might) like. however, I'm nooottt gonna use yousendit!

you're not gonna make me!

Are you giving in to some megaupload lovin'?

wheelchairman
02-03-2007, 02:39 PM
It's just I downloaded the megaupload download aid program and it sucks and I hate them for life. Use yousendit!

(or megaupload if you insist. :( )

Tatu is awesome!

Nina
02-03-2007, 02:47 PM
You dont need any aid program (?) to use it, or do you know that but chose to do it anyway?

wheelchairman
02-03-2007, 02:58 PM
I knew that and chose to do it anyways. But when you do it, you have to log in to access the downloads. Until you move them to a different folder. It was just unnecessary I thought...completely unnecessary to be forced to log in to access downloads on my own laptop.

So I didn't like them anymore. :(

I've got David Vendetta's Unidos para la musica. I'm the pits at defining musical style but it seems to me to be somewhat verging on the synth denomination.

Give me a buzz if you want it & don't have it already.
