The most obvious one: The Legend of Zelda. This game was too awesome. Of course, i wasn't around to play it when it came out but i played it when i was about 5/6.

Winter Sports 1994 (http://www.abandonia.com/games/78/WinterChallenge)
The best sports game to this day. 8 different winter sports. Some of them are a tad bugged; but they are all fun. A party game since you can play it with 10 people.

Contra:
Read the review Maddox wrote about this game: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=contra3_owns
The Contra I played was Contra 1 or 2. Possible the best action game ever. It rocks.

Dragonball Z: Legend of the Saiyans
Oh yeaaa Dragonball Z. Maybe childish.. but a very good rpg for that time. (1992; if I'm correct)

I loved this fighter sim when I was a kid. The interesting plot and the fact that you weren't a military pilot, you were a mercenary made this flying game special.

And another game I'd like to add; which is not that old, but pretty unknown. Discworld Noir. A point and click game where you have to try to solve some cases as a detective. Like Sam & Max and Broken Sword; but better.

http://www.justadventure.com/reviews/DWN/DWN03.jpg

The best detective ever; at least with the best dark humor.

I'm not sure how forgotten this game is, but I remember playing one of my favorite games of all time:

http://www.consoleclassix.com/info_img/Road_Rash_II_GEN_ScreenShot1.jpghttp://www.consoleclassix.com/info_img/Road_Rash_II_GEN_ScreenShot2.jpg

My Sega Genesis has been broken since 2002, but I bet I could still hum every song for every course in Road Rash II.

Edit: ToeJam and Earl link broke. I just got rid of it because Road Rash is awesomest.

Not the real ones for the Sega Genesis, but they've remade the game in different versions for the Playstation and Game Boy Advance. I'll probably buy the GBA one anyways.

Moonwalker was really good, specially if you were a MJJ fan. I particularly liked the one with the zombies, so that was thriller.. I guess each level was from one of his songs, like level 1 was "smooth criminal" so it was in a bar with gangsters...

Oh yea; since everyone likes Winter so much, I've only just found there was also a Summer game (like half a year ago).

http://www.abandonia.com/games/en/66/SummerChallenge.htm

Summer Challenge isn't quite as challenging. Getting 8 gold medals in easy mode is nearly impossible on Winter Challenge but in Summer Challenge it is relatively easy.

Am I the only one who hates darea's posts? I mean, just a couple of words, and pictures and LOTS of posts like that? Isn't it kinda annoying?

Anyways, LeChuck's Revenge for me. It's not forgotten, it's ignored actually. Good games are always ignored. Kids nowadays only enjoy stupid games that don't make them think.

Yeah Im not the insulting type, and I like posting the pictures so that people get an idea of what the game was like... and its also a way of keeping the pictures somewhere so that I can go back and look at them, I know I could download them too, but I like to share these with all of ya....

I'm trying to remember the name of a certain game. It was a fighting game for the N64.

It was actually two fighting games in one. One of the games was a very cartoony fighter, where you could use items and stuff. The other was like a bastardized version of Tekken.

I played the former more often, so I remember some of the characters. There was a robot sumo, a guy in a camoflage jacket, and some Goku/Ryu ripoff character, among others. Oh, and a guy dressed kind of like a hawk, and made hawk fighting sounds.

Man, that game was so fun, but I don't remember the friggin' name.

The name "jack" suddenly popped into my head and after a google image search of "pc rabbit jack" I found it. It's was Jazz Jackrabbit.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/74/Jazz_Jackrabbit_gameplay.screenshot.png

I never got far into the game because I recall getting stuck in the first level and I've been dying to play it again so I could figure it out.

I remember that! Little killer rabbit. I believe we still have it somewhere.
Does anyone remember this old man walking across the rooms in a tower and getting eaten by monsters?

I think it's outrageous that noone posted the best racing game ever yet.

Stunts.
A racing game that is so much fun as Stunts is something I've never seen as of today. It might look like shit but the gameplay is awesome. Arcade style racing at it's best. Just the ability to make your own tracks already makes it fantastic. I'd suggest it to anyone.

Edit: In fact, there were a lot of great now-obscure games for the N64 which deserve more recognition.

Flying Dragon (which I previously mentioned)
Iggy's Reckin' Balls
Milo's Astro Lanes
Blast Corps
Wipeout
Waverace 64
And much more that I can't remember because, well, they're obscure.

... I can't believe no one mentioned James Pond: Robocod. It's probably the best platformer ever released. I played it on a Commodore Amiga 500 (yes, I am that old), but it came out later on SEGA Megadrive and PSx. Screens:

Also, there was another awesome platformer, called "Premiere", for AMIGA too. I spent a lot of time playing it too:

http://eager.back2roots.org/SSHOT/P/premiere.png

Ecco the dolphin for Megadrive was excellent too. A little bit hard to get into, but really satisfying after some time of playing. I can't say the same about its sequel though.

For PC, I remember playing a great fighting game called Manhattan Dealers. Your character was called Dirty Harry, and you had to defeat all by yourself numerous drug gangs. Really great. It ran on a CGA video card, which means the game was composed by only four colours. Yep, that's right. Sorry, but I couldn't find any CGA screenshots.
