It's official, and this is how it's gonna look like:

I never bashed her or her music, I have both her albums and I think they are moderate and cheerful. I also never really cared about her so called punkrawk image; I did, however, got positively surprised when I saw a couple "classy" photoshoots she had after she got married. She said she changed as a person, grew more mature and wanted to show that in her clothing as well.

But THIS is a horrible album cover and it makes me sad to see she's going for the "13 year old myspace scene queen"...she's going back to her old image, as if she hadnt changed between the second and third album. Sure it's "just" a cover, but now I have difficulties believing that she matured as an artist as well, and three "moderate and cheerful" albums of the same sound in a row is something I generally think is something to be embarrassed about.

Also, if THIS is what she wishes her audience to be , I'll have to pass.

didn't she spit on the photographer?

If it helps, my 12 year-old sister likes her.

...Guess it doesn't. Nevermind.

I've thought a couple of her songs had some catchy parts in the past, but I've never thought of her music as mature in any way whatsoever. So, I don't see why this comes as a surprise to you, I guess. Especially when she's targeting what is most definitely her biggest audience.

Oh, for a second I thought you said "cover album", which, if her cover of Chop Suey (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfM1U74tMJw) is any indication, would've been utterly hilarious.

Ah but what I meant was: "it was fun at first, now develope and mature as an artist, dammit", but it doesnt seem like she's going to. I'm just surprised that she (apparently) pulls the PUNKRAAWWKK type of idiotic thing for the course of three albums now.
I guess that's the inner (disappointed) fan speaking in me.

Haha, so far I was able to avoid that cover for all these years. It is too much of a frightening thought.

Her cover of Knockin' on Heavens door was pretty horrible too, but Jesus, it wasn't THAT bad.

But it's her style, and she's been successful with it. Why change?

This is the music industry. Maturing means showing boobies and lyrics about being a sex slave. Nothing more. Since there are tons of "mature" singers around it would be safe for Avril to stay in this way. She's a better role model in this way.

And change is risky. Very few people and bands keep their success after changing. It wouldn't be a smart move, would it? Because there still isn't a punkrawk girl like Avril so there's nothing wrong with her staying same. Sure, she does make me strangle someone everytime I see her but you know, whatever.

i cant decide if this is better or worse than the "cover" that was floating around ONTD a few weeks ago.

Avril's never had integrity or anything like that. What could you expect from the person that did Sk8er Boi?
