Yazoo Dos Perros, a local brand. Interestingly, it tastes very different out of the bottle. I think mostly because I'm so used to drinking it on tap. I love it on tap, but generally avoid the bottled kind, as do my friends.

Other than that, Shiner Bock is a solid beer, as is Abita Turbodog. And Mich Ultra Amber is perfect for a fourth or fifth beer and beyond. There's a really good Missouri brand that my friend made me try last time I was in Fayetteville, but I can't recall the name.

I like desperados (...) and I like too Boomerang, Belle-Vue (beer from belgium) and Mort Subite. Otherwise I'd like to taste some Delirium Tremens beer, it seems to be good.

But my favorite is probably Kirin.

JoY

Heineken, normally. I had this phase in which I tried different kinds of beer & every unusual kind was better than anything anyone had ever tasted, but thank god I grew out of that. it's funny people just LOVE to name a beer that's from their country/region. it's not like they don't taste any other kind, I'm pretty sure it's some kind of misplaced pride, like; hey, we make beer in our country/region too & because no one on this planet knows it, doesn't mean it's the best fucking beer in the world!!!!!!1

those qualities make Grolsch a very, very refreshing beer, when it's well cooled. it should be supercold, though. as I said, VERY refreshing. not my favorite, but I can most certainly enjoy it.

When I want to drink something I want it to be sweet and tasty. That's why no beer for me. I only drink it when everyone drinks and they force me to drink so I don't really care what brand it is.

Actually, since I met Baileys all of my thoughts about alcohol have changed. I hate everyone for not mentioning its awesome taste before.

No, but ever since I introduced Maartje to Baileys liquor mixed with tea she loved the combination.

killer_queen
02-03-2007, 02:02 PM
Oh no, it makes tea better for sure but thinking it's made just for tea is kind of an insult to Bailey's.

By the way, who's that guy in yor sig? He's looking right into my eyes and I feel weird.

pff, people who mix Bailey's are freakin' CRIMINALS. *looks in Tizz's direction*

the whole enjoying the taste of Bailey's with coffee/tea I don't get. you enjoy the taste of Bailey's period. I like it with ice, though, like you. I enjoy most drinks with ice, because I like to have something to suck & chew on after the drink.

that came out wrong.

I don't really like beer. Baileys is the shit, and I recently discovered Goldschlager, a wonderful cinnamon-flavored schnapps with tiny bits of gold in it. In shots, or mixed with apple juice for larger amounts. http://www.celluloidandvinyl.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/05/goldschlager.jpg

sambuca taste's like cough remedy. I like it though and it burns really nice to.

it doesn't taste like cough syrup. don't you mean "dropshot"?? now that tastes like cough syrup. Sambuca tastes more like cinnamon, something cough syrup most definitely normally doesn't. if you light it, you're burning the alcohol (duh), though. kind of a waste. however it's a shitload of fun to light it in your mouth & sprinkle cinnamon over it.

oh wait..

nevermind, I don't even know why the fuck I thought the two drinks had anything to do with each other.

Sinister
02-05-2007, 06:56 AM
maybe cause you had too much of one or the other recently?
I haven't had near enough.

Whiplash
02-05-2007, 06:59 AM
No, dropshot tastes like drop (lycorish (sp?)).
I still think sambuca taste's like cough syrup.
And sambuca seems to burn allot better then any other drink.

JoY
02-05-2007, 07:07 AM
licorice. yes. but the cough syrup I used to take as a child most definitely tasted like licorice. I wouldn't have any other. I liked that stuff so damn much, once I drank almost the whole bottle of cough syrup. I remember my tummy was never more upset.

the reason I had this memory of Sambuca tasting like cinnamon, is because most of the times I drank it, we lit it in our mouths while we sprinkled cinnamon over it. that's why I mentioned it.

thinking back it tastes a lot more like anise. anise has a licorice-like flavour, but it's not quite the same. that would explain why you think Sambuca tastes like cough syrup & why I think "dropshot" (liquid licorice, basically) tastes like cough syrup.

Whiplash
02-05-2007, 07:11 AM
You're right!!!! anise!! that was the word i was looking for.:D
I still don't think sambuca taste's anything like cinnamon.

JoY
02-05-2007, 07:31 AM
because it doesn't, really. *slaps forehead* I tried to explain that most times I drink Sambuca, we light it in our mouths, hold our heads back & sprinkle cinnamon over the flames coming from our mouths. it gives a strong cinnamon smell that I automatically associated with the taste of Sambuca.

Whiplash
02-05-2007, 07:37 AM
ooooo right.*looks to cealing*.;)
Isn't that painfull? fire in your mouth. I saw a clip once of a guy who lit a fire in hist mouth but he chocked on it setting his entire face on fire.

JoY
02-05-2007, 07:46 AM
*shrugs* not painful at all. it's a matter of being careful. once a tooth of mine stinged quite badly afterwards, though. I never did it since, but every time I drink Sambuca, I'm tempted nontheless. the heat & the strong smell of cinnamon are a rather nice addition to the usually pretty dull & supersweet Sambuca.

although you burn a good percentage of the alcohol Sambuca contains, you can be sure that, if you drink it the way I described, you will be drunk as hell at the end of the evening. therefore a little care is in order, as you begin to reach the 20th shot.

I know a guy (no, this one didn't die. ;p) who just kept on drinking shots of Sambuca with his friends, the way I just described. as he was becoming really fucking drunk, he didn't pour the drink in his mouth as accurately anymore. there were some drops of Sambuca on his cheek & yes well, when he lit what was in his mouth with a lighter, that bit of his cheek was kinda on fire too.

the next day when he woke up in the girls' room (we had to take him in, he was too drunk to move elsewhere), the first thing he said, was; *sleepy voice* "..oh my god, my cheek, oh my god, what happened to my cheek, my cheek, it burns so badly!!". we laughed.

Whiplash
02-05-2007, 07:51 AM
Hahaha. I think i'll pass on the lighting sambuca in my mouth. I'll probably burn the hell out off my face to.
