It's like a mix of "Diorama" and "The Dissociatives" (his another band). It's ok. Can't wait for the album.

Meh. They wrote better material when they were 16 with fucking Frogstomp. Bring back that album and Freak Show, about the only worthwhile stuff they've ever released. And even they're pretty mediocre. Good, but not great.

And what's someone from Slovakia doing listening to friggin' Silverchair, anyway?

I loved Neon Ballroom.

But I hate the Dissociatives. Though I am looking forward to Daniel Johns doing more Silverchair, that luckily married bitchstick.

The Dissociatives were terrible. I haven't listened to this new song yet, but if the singles from Diorama were anything to indicate I'm not gonna like it.

And what's someone from Australia asking me why am I listening to amazin' Silverchair, anyway?

There's always some cool, weird, spectacular, beautiful or even hardcore song on their albums. I love cool alternative rock. They can be underground or mainstream. Superior output, inferior music. I like. :o

And keep on being arrogant and lame, I love it, like Silverchair.

Well, I mean, I knew they made it big internationally in the '90s, but would have thought all of that would have died down by now. I kinda figured post-Freak Show nobody outside of Australia would give a shit anymore.

And always sort of assumed by "internationally" they got big in, say, America and the UK. Eastern Europe seems a little weird, to still be listening to Silverchair. Just didn't figure there would be a fanbase there 10 years after their fad popularity faded.

And the friggin' Dissociatives? They aren't even big here. Why overseas?

I guess I'm an exception, it's not like every goddamn Slovak listens to friggin' Silverchair. I collected all of their albums and b-sides like a year ago. I have never had a problem to adapt to their last albums, I guess I'm not a tru punx.

And Dissociatives, I checked it out of curiosity. Almighty wikipedia told me about them. I listened to it like twice.

Dissociatives album was balls. Not like I bought it or anything, but yeah. Lamez.

This song is rather good, probably like it more after more listens. Only listened to one track by Dissociatives and I have to say, I was interested although Daniel Johns sticking with Silverchair was a better idea.

Freak Show was a fucking amazing album.

Lies, all lies.

It ranged from "okay" to "pretty-decent-post-Nirvana-mid-90s-alt-rock-grunge-lite". ;) *nods sagely*

Does the rest of the album sound like Straight Lines? If it does, I think I might avoid it. Good on Daniel Johns for not being depressed anymore, but if he's no longer making stuff like Emotion Sickness (or even Cemetery, Ana's Song or Anthem for the Year 2000 are ones I'd settle for) I'm not sure it's worth it.

hmmm, T-bo, check out " If You Keep Losing Sleep" ---> funny and "Those Thieving Birds (Part 1) - Strange Behaviour - Those Thieving Birds (Part 2)" ---> masterpiece and "All Across The World". Those include orchestral arrangements by Van Dyke Parks.

"Waiting All Day" is awesome!, very different. They gained some influences from 80's. "Low" too.

I like opener very much.

It's a very compact record, easy to listen, fresh, yeah, I think most of it is like Straight Lines.
