I was bored and looking at Bad Religions myspace when i noticed this picture:
http://a723.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/42/l_813b32c1be6099577fb4141066498dca.jpg

and its almost exactly the same as the one in the Americana booklet for Pay the Man. Obviously a copy, as the BR poster is from 1990 and Americana was 98.

Sorry if anyone has noticed this before, i just thought i should point it out.

They probably liked the poster and asked if they could use the same concept.

I never noticed, I suppose that they just saw it and figured it suited Pay The Man perfectly and asked to re-do it.

maybe Kozik was lazy making the americana artwork.....

Wow, all they did was swap Elvis's head for that of Bill Clinton.

Didn't Kozik do both?

There is a signature down right. But I can't see if it's written "Kozik" or something else

The caption on their myspace page is "no control european tour poster, 1990. artwork by kozik" so yeah, it is Kozik.

Yes its done by Kozik, and its not the exact same as the Offspring's version of it, the Bad Religion version has alot more detail in it, example, the poster of the nude woman on the Offspring one only goes to waistlegnth and the Bad Religion one goes full lengh of the poster of the nude woman, and on the Offspring one there is a guitar aswell but on the Bad Religion one there is a golf club instead. And the colours are slightly differant.

so if this is true, it would be up to Kozik to put the artwork in both TO's and BR's booklets? seeing as how it is his pic... or ... i dont know.. ignore this.. im probably off topic.

im betting that this is a tribute to bad religion, it seems to be pretty obvious

No... they were both painted by the same artist. Both bands just hired the same artist to do their work. You should read the thread before you post.

But surely the artist would have known he drew the same thing for a different band 7 or 8 years prior. Either him or the band, it would be a pretty good chance they'd realise the similarity, and choose some other piece of artwork. It's weird.

I'd think the artist would be pretty damn excited to make a ton of money without really doing any work.

Kozik is way too famous and his work too well recognizeable for that to be worth it to him. I'd believe it if someone said it had something to do with BR, though what that something would be, I couldn't say.
