Pretty easy to understand. What are your ten favorite albums from the last 7 years?

My list isn't done yet, I just wanted to make the thread before I forgot the idea.

This should be easy, considering most of my favorite CDs came out recently.

Sum 41 - Does This Look Infected? (2002)
Billy Talent - Billy Talent (2003)
Rise Against - Revolutions Per Minute (2003)
AFI - Sing the Sorrow (2003)
Alkaline Trio - Crimson (2005)
The Fall of Troy - Doppelganger (2005)
Billy Talent - Billy Talent II (2006)
Alexisonfire - Crisis (2006)
Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell (2007)
Big D and the Kids Table - Strictly Rude (2007)

Actually this was harder to make than I thought. This is more of a temporary list anyway, because I know I'll be bored of half of these CDs by next year.

3.) the Decemberists- the Crane Wife (2006)
4.) Sufjan Stevens- Illinois (2005)

How can you count them if you haven't heard them in their entirety? Maybe verything you haven't heard sucks?

I doubt that that's the case. I've listened 7 of them all the way through, the majority of the songs on 2 of them, and I haven't heard many off of the last one, but I've listened to plenty of other songs by that band on other recordings and I enjoyed them.

<3
That's going on mine when I actually write it up.

edit: Unrelated, but have you heard that Blind Melon have a new singer and are putting out new music? This makes me incredibly sad. Not that their original singer had the best voice or anything, but he played a pretty big part in the songwriting so it won't be the same at all.

nieh, lily (from dr. doctor) emailed me recently and told me three of them have formed a new band: tracks like trains (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=215975347)

nieh

Awesome. Dr. Doctor actually sent that out as a MySpace bulletin yesterday, but they must've had the wrong link (it was showing as myspace.com/tracksliketrains which doesn't have any music up or anything, I figured they just didn't upload it yet). Does that mean Dr. Doctor is no more though? They just sold a bunch of merch on ebay like a week or two ago saying it was to get money to record a new album. I'm actually wearing one of their shirts right now.

Believe me, I`ve tried a lot of modern bands but I don`t know much many that I enjoy as much as I do while listening to the 90`s music. But maybe The Smashing Pumpkins and Carajo (a nu metal band from Argentina you should listen to ) are the most remarkable...in my opinion of course

My first though when reading "Conspiracy of One" was "gross," but come to think of it, if I had to listen to a full Offspring album, I'd pick Co1 and probably not be too bothered. Of the handful of Offspring songs I still like, the most are on Co1, ironically.

There is something about CO1 that just sound wierd to me. I like the album but it is my least favorite because it doesn't sound as real as the other albums. So many of the songs sound the same.

I don't listen to it nearly as often as I used to, but every now and then when I do, I still love it. I'm not sure if I'm excited for their new one or not, though. Mostly just curious, I guess.
