I can't believe I almost posted the same thing. Oh, and also...

The Offspring is not a BOY band! Dexter is a MAN! He has the BOOBS to prove it! The MANBOOBS!

Remember when Dexter did that thing where he hit the cardboard Backstreet Boys things with the baseball bat? That was really fucking stupid.

Nobody in the universe has ever written, sung, recorded or performed a hit song as great as "I Want It That Way".

Facts is facts.

(Yeah, I'm mostly serious)

That was actually the clincher for me as far as not taking The Offspring seriously anymore. I was 16 years old when they did that, and I remember thinking "shouldn't these guys be more mature than I am?"

Whether you're serious or not, I actually like that song. I haven't heard it in about 6 years, but I remember liking it.

Backstreet Boys. My sister and I used to make dance routines to their songs.

I'm sorry, but where is Hanson on this list? Hmmm? Or should I say MMM?[bop]

JohnnyNemesis

I don't think Hanson should count because they write their own songs and play their own instruments and stuff.

What about the Monkees?

JohnnyNemesis
07-28-2007, 05:23 PM
The Monkees weren't about music. They were about rebellion, about political and social upheaval!

But that's not even Michael Nesmith's real hat.

Yeah but they're fans were equally annoying.

And it doesn't count if your dad writes your stuff.

I actually still like/know all the words to "Dirty Pop" by N'Sync, which is funny, because I used to hate them and looove Backstreet Boys. One of the Backstreet Boys was actually a good singer though, the one with the curly hair whatever his name was. Brian maybe?

Edit: Just watched "I Want it That Way". I liked/still kind of like Brian and Kevin.

Lololol, they are fuckin' cynical punk rock stars who love to do recessive things for teenagers and they are fully aware of it. It's their job! Lololol. Now, your post is stupid. Lololol.

BSB. I proudly possess "Larger Than Life," "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely," and "Shape of My Heart" in my iTunes library. My favorite BSB was Kevin because he had by far the most distinctive voice (read: he sang in a lower register) and they'd never give him any solos.

I never liked *NSYNC, but Justin Timberlake is reeeeally starting to annoy me. Probably because people above age 14 actually like him now and I can't tell how he's any more deserving at all.

Yeah I'm missing 'Five' in there. Especially since I bought their greatest hits a few days ago to bring back old memories (and enjoy it shamelessly).

But out of those 4 the Backstreet Boys easily win.

5ive and 98 degrees definitely should be in this list.

I vote for NSYNC because in 1998, I had my walls covered in their posters and photos. I freaking LOVED their self titled album. I also adored BSB's "Millenium" album.

I think BSB was probably the better band, because they all got to sing lead... NSYNC always had Justin and JC, and the others NEVER got to. It was great with BSB that they all got to sing.

I remember when I was in elementary school and you couldn't like both NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys, you had to pick a side or else you were a traitor. Kind of like the Green Day/Offspring thing in the on-topic section.
