I could have been born in 1984. I wasn't.

I've heard the movie is terrible. The book is great. Orwell is a pretty good read in general.

I want to get around to reading Animal Farm, I have it on the shelf, I'm just lazy.

1984 wasn't that awesome. Depeche Mode released Some Great Reward, featuring "People Are People", which did make them breakthrough here in the United States, but but the album was like, 20 minutes long. Fuckin' cheap.

Then again, Madonna's "Like A Virgin" album came out that year. "Borderline" was a big hit. That song is fucking awesome.

"Borderline" being the Resevoir Dogs character Mr. Blue's favourite Madonna song.

Sadly, I haven't even watched that film in about three years.

Mr. Blue's character is loosely based on me.

1984 is boring, but the ideas in it, and the thoughts are terrifying, and near uncomprehensible.

I read 1984 this summer, and i think it was great.
I have also read Animal Farm two times. It is also great.

1984 is the book that got me interesting in reading again. I read it last year for school, and decided that I should be reading more.

1984 is definitely one of my favorites, Animal Farm was also pretty decent. It's a really quick read Per, you should read it. I read 1984 and A Brave New World at about the same time, I have got to say that 1984 is a lot better.

Slaughter-House Five may be better then both. The only reason I bring it up is because I also read that one at about the same time as Brave New World and 1984.

Also, Some Great Reward is my friends favorite Depeche Mode CD. Which I suppose also makes it his favorite CD.

I hate you.

I just realized something stupid... You know how everyone always gets all "Oh my sweet jesus you haven't read that book yet? You should die!" about certain stuff? There was a time when that person hadn't read it either... and there are a lot of books out there. Bleh that didn't quite come out how I wanted it to; I feel like I worded it pretty poorly.

I read 1984 a while. It is one of my favorite books. But, I'm still young so my favorite books will change a lot.

Of course 1984 was better than Brave New World. Brave New World was mediocre at best.

Thank you! It's really annoying when people do that.

I have read Animal Farm. It was pretty good but I also thought it's kind of overrated. I haven't read 1984 and I'm not thinking about reading it until the end of this year either. I don't care if everyone thinks it's a "must read".

And I have this idea which you guys probably find stupid but I tend to think the books that are loved by the majority of people are generally not that good. The best sellers make me kinda right. I don't know, I think a good book must be a little challenging. There's no fun in reading if the author is telling what he wants very directly.
