No, you don't have to upload it; someone already has (http://iplaybass.flyingstove.com/Music/Against%20Me%20The%20Acoustic%20Ep/).

But what's being discussed is this iTunes promo they did which has a few acoustic versions of songs. It's only on iTunes, but I don't want to pay for any of these songs.

EDIT: That link also has As The Eternal Cowboy and Searching For A Former Clarity if anyone wants either cd. I also don't think the first song uploaded right, because it's got awful quality.

So, I've always kinda liked Against Me!, cause my roommate a few years back was really into them. I never really got into them, though, cause I just never had their music. Well, I'm really liking this album. Damn. From what I'm reading, the older stuff is more folksy, too. For someone who's into Against Me!, what would you recommend for their best album? What's the most folksy? I'd like to check out another album of theirs. Also, is their live album worth it/ are they good live?

First off, when someone usually asks that question, i usually recomend Searching For a Former Clarity, it is by far their best album imho. But i'd say Reinventing Axel Rose, or even Eternal Cowboy has more of a "folk" sound to them.

And is their live album any good/ are they good live? Well... the answer is YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!

So the band (well at least Tom) has been playing a bunch of new acoustic tracks. I have no idea if these are going to be on the new album, all I’ve heard is that the band is currently demoing tracks, but man, I really really hope we get to here a recorded version of some of these.

Tom Gable is working on a solo album! And new Against Me! next year!

http://www.punknews.org/article/30336

Tom Gabel has posted a series of studio updates as he continues work on his debut solo EP, Heart Burns. Based on his plans, the album is expected to be mixed and mastered with the artwork completed by the end of this week. The entries also reveal guest appearances by Chuck Ragan and Matt Skiba, and production by Butch Vig and Billy Bush. Along with revealing some song titles like "100 Years Of War," "Anna Is A Stool Pigeon," "Conceptual Paths," "Cowards Sing At Night," "Harsh Realms" and "Random Hearts," Gabel mentions a cover of The Replacements song "Here Comes A Regular" for an upcoming 50 Anniversary compilation Warner is preparing.

Though some early Against Me! material was not dramatically different from solo recordings, Tom muses over whether to release the music under his own name or through the band:

I feel conflicted as to whether I should release these songs under the name Against Me! as planned, under a new name, or under my given name. I've never liked my name.
Tom also mentions plans to record a proper new Against Me! record next year.

Based on the live from Emo's Bootleg, these songs are going to be great, Anna is a Stool Pigion is probably my favorite at the moment. You can also check out his blog for updates.

So a quick band update...

Warren Oakes got his ass fired by Tom Gable for being too shitty. This kind of sucks, since he was a super nice guy, even though he quite obviously wasn't as technically talented as the rest of the band.

Gable's blog, also mentioned this

After load in today Warren asked if he could talk with us all again. He said that after thinking about it over night he completely agreed that this was the best decision to make, that he realized his actions as of late have been, if not subconcious, indicitive of him not being fully invested. With his Mexican Restaurant opening soon, he seems ready to start a new chapter in his life. I wish him luck.

Then, to spite the kids at punknews.org, Gable and company asked George Rebelo to join the band, thus preventing any future Hot Water Music reunions.

Still, internal band drama aside, if every song on the new album is as good as this, i'm not going to care http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsNP1sHls3U
