I thought they made and album every other summer. Plus i heard from a shit load of sites that they were going to release an album this summer and were currently in the studio. But on thier website they are still talking about the warped tour.

Just because there's been a pattern in release dates before doesn't mean they have to release albums in that pattern.

Also, a lot of albums get rumored for release but don't happen, or get delayed a lot. It's just how the process works.

Actually, I read somewhere that Fletcher talked about a new album in the summer of 2008.

I've noticed quite a few bands breaking a pattern of release dates lately. Pennywise, Bad Religion, Alkaline Trio, and are The Vandals still even around?

I think having a pattern is a bad idea, at least if it's done on purpose. It puts too much pressure on bands to put things out then instead of when they think they've got the album exactly like they think it should sound.

I just thing it's strange that these bands all had a similar album pattern that suddenly breaks, and it happens to all of them within the same year.

I dunno. The one I'm surprised about is that the Mountain Goats haven't released an album yet. They've been releasing an album a year for like...at least 10 years now, and there's no news on a 2007 album.

the vandals are still around but josh freese is/was on tour with nine inch nails and warren is on tour with gwen stefani! there has been the same rumours about pennywise splitting like there was before the fuse was released, hopefully again they will prove untrue!

Almost forgot about this. Pretty crazy stuff. They kept that "every two years" streak up from 1991-2005. Insane.

To be fair, all they do every two years is draw new album art and change the lyrics to the songs.

so they stick to a certain formula it seems, it works for them though rather than chaging to keep up with modern trends!
