Black Light Burns is an American rock band featuring Wes Borland (formerly of Limp Bizkit, Big Dumb Face, Eat the Day). The band's lineup consists of Borland himself, along with Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle), Josh Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv) and Josh Freese (The Vandals, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails). Their debut album, Cruel Melody, was released on June 5, 2007.

I like this band. I think I'm going to check every band with Josh Freese on drums. Then Viva Death, now this...he is my new hero. Not that I didn't love him on APC albums, The Vandals albums and Splinter. :p :o

I absolutely adore:
- Animal
- Coward
Absolutely enjoyable songs. Actually, I adore the first 5 songs.
- Iodine Sky <3
Very different 7 minute song. Weird sounds exactly like Iodine (lul) and piano. Just imagine Iodine sky (violet-dark gray, lustrous). Otherwise, I'm normal. :D

danny lohner and josh freese are not even in the actual band only the album. but the band advertised themselves like they did.

The lyrics are practically laughable.

I don't mind it, though, so far. Although it's not really the type of thing I'm into.

danny lohner and josh freese are not even in the actual band only the album. but the band advertised themselves like they did.

If they played a part in the recording and a part in the songwriting and weren't just hired as a session player, then they're in the band even if the line-up changes frequently like with NIN. Josh Freese is notoriously busy and doesn't always even go on tour with the bands he's been in for years.

And yeah, they're alright. Better than most other bands in that style but only barely.

Wow, Josh Eustis is on this album? Never expected him to mingle with the likes of these other guys. Not that it's a bad thing.

And yeah, they're OK. But just OK. I probably won't get their album. Eustis's electronic style is the only thing that distinguishes this band from a lot of other gothy stuff.

i saw a video of them on youtube... and to me (from the song i heard), it just sounds like wes borland trying to make diet-NIN...if you want the taste of NIN, without all that pesky inspiration.

i admit what made check out the band was josh freese.

I'm obsessed with this album. That's my music.

I love the fact that it's 1 hour long. I was surprised that Wes Borland did vocals. I like them like anything on this record, lawl. I don't care about lyrics.

bouncingcoles, whatever. Side projects is the best thing that happened to music. :p

There will be another BLB album!

They made a cover album called Cover your heart and it's great, without Freese and other amazing musicians. It's 10 covers and 7 instrumentals by Borland. I recommend it to everybody. You should like at least a couple of songs because it's diverse in a way.
The best songs:
- Lucretia My Reflection <333
- Drowning Together, Dying Alone <333 (I really love those haunting, utopic and mysterious melodies)
- On the Bound <3
- Rid of Me <3

Cruel Melody Exclusives
Kill the Queen <3

He is probably the best singer with practically non-existent voice. :d The second album is almost done. I'm curious how it's gonna be like, without covers and amazing musicians. He said it's very good but I don't think that they can top Cruel Melody. <3
